Gordon Bombay
A quote from the Kentucky Post: Park officials say the ride will be the tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster and the park So Diamondback will now be Kings Island? Kings Island will just be one roller coaster? KY Post you make no sense!

JAHill
Work continued this week on King's Islands newest venture -- the Diamondback. Sorry, I just have a deep hatred of people who demand that the world 'the' be put in front of titles which do not have the word 'the' in front of them. Earlier this month, crews installed the first piece of track on a 230-foot hill. If I remember correctly, DB is to be located where Swan Lake once lied... on normal ground level. I hear people say "Lets go ride The Son Of The Beast and then The Top Gun!" There are so many things wrong with that sentence, 1. it's called Son of Beast, 2. it's Flight Deck, 3. It's not the The Flight Deck, it's Flight Deck... I go insane when people say the infront of things that don't need it.

BavarianBeatle
????? THE Ohio State University? I also hate it when reporters ask stupid questions or write incorrectly. For example tonight Greta Van Susteren did a story on voting in Ohio. Talking about college students voting, she interviewed a reporter from the Columbus Dispatch. He told her that Columbus was in Franklin County and she asked, "So, is there a university in Franklin County?" She also asked a detective a couple of years ago "Is this girl really missing or do we just not know where she is?" It drives me nuts. tigellinus
I'm....sort of dumbfounded.... a.) The main point about that D-back article is just to get some PR out about it in the Commonwealth (granted, bad context and facts don't help the public's education of the ride...despite whatever the state-line signage might say! ) b.) People are idiots!! This shouldn't be a newsflash at all!! -The Tigellinus

Cory Butcher
Anyone notice that the beginning of the deterioration of the U.S. economy coincides with OSU's first National Championship loss? The U.S. economy will not return to its former self obviously until OSU wins another title, sadly, it looks like we are headed for a depression then [Grade "A" Sarcasm] Oh and according to the website for The Ohio State University...the website material is copyright to "The Ohio State University" not Ohio State University. Your preferred name is what you choose to be called, and your name on your birth certificate is your given name. Either one usually works! pyrocoasterkid
????? THE Ohio State University? Ha, that's a joke. So glad USC won. How is it that as a resident of Cincinnati, you can have hatred for OSU? I've never understood why there is such a hatred of OSU in Cincy in comparison to every other part of Ohio, and even alot of the country. It makes no sense; there is no reason for it. It's a STATE team, thus a city in the state should not be so hateful (envious) of OSU. So there's been alot of chokes lately. Who cares? It's still one of the most elite football teams. If someone can give me a good reason, I'd love it. Especially in rooting for a team from the West coast. I can understand why in parts of the country there are people who root for whoever is playing OSU, but it shouldn't happen from a city in OHIO. Even if you don't like them, you should still be hoping they do well.
teenageninja
^ This is extremely untrue. Cincinnati probably has the second biggest fan base out of the three major cities in Ohio (Cleveland, Cincy, Columbus). I've noticed that more people up north tend to be Wolverine fans then down here. Although the reasoning might be that OSU paid UC millions of dollars to play their second game in the home and home series later than scheduled, I know that got me riled up a little. Tomkatt7
????? THE Ohio State University? People always stress "The" in the name. Mostly noticed by football players, but everyone that I know personally that has graduated from there says it like that. Must be some sort of code or something. They all claim Thats the name of the school. Look at the logo at the very top of the page. It's the official school logo. http://www.osu.edu/

That is the reason OSU plays Ohio schools early in the year. May as well help them with money instead of sending it out to Rice, or Eastern Michigan or another school that would have no chance. I can understand why in parts of the country there are people who root for whoever is playing OSU, but it shouldn't happen from a city in OHIO. Even if you don't like them, you should still be hoping they do well. First off, relax, I was only kidding around. I don't really "have hatred" for any school. I have lots of friends who attend OSU and a lot of them are really great at the fields they study and perform very well academically. I go to Ohio University in Athens. Personally, I could care less about school pride and my school did better than expected against OSU a few weeks back. What annoys me about OSU is the whole "THE" Ohio State University, as if it was some holy, prestigious, made-by-the-Lord-himself ivy league school. The absolute arrogance of it astounds me. I guess my "disdain" for the school started when someone said: "Oh, what school do you go to?" Me: "Ohio University." "Right on, go bucs!" Me: "No, I go to Ohio University in Athens, not Ohio State in Columbus." "Oh, so you don't go to THE Ohio State?" I just get sick of people acting like its the school of the God's, there is school pride and then there is just being down right arrogant, and it seems a lot of folks from Columbus are down right arrogant for no reason. Each school has their respective things they're good at. OSU has a great football team, OU has ..... well, we have a football team. However, when it comes to my field of study, we blow OSU out of the water hands down all the time. I'm just sick of "THE" arrogance. So I'll root for Michigan, all in good fun though.
