PKI_Man
u think they might put a new section 4 the 2004 season because im wanting a new section, they need new roller coasters insted of flat rides.
teenageninja
I could see a new a new area with a coaster in 2004. I only see one coaster but more flats.
pki_guy
Well, PKI doesnt actually NEED a new area, but a new area would be good for relieving congestion in the Action Zone. If they do put a new area up in the future, they most likely would put up a coaster there, along with some other flat rides. The new area could be back by FOF and have a military base theme, which has been discussed before. But I like the idea.
Coasterfan
Theycould put a Humvee and stuff in it.
Dane
no - not needed, simple as that
Beastfreak
Over time we may see a new area but I just don't see the need for one in 2004 right now. Maybe by 2007 for the 35th aniversary.
CoasterKrazy
I don't think Paramount's Kings Island needs a new section since they can do so much with the sections that they already have. In my opinion, the themed areas PKI has now should be spruced up before a new one is built. Each section has it's own unique theme, but there could be so much more done with Action Zone, Coney Mall, Rivertown, Hanna Barberra Land, and especially Oktoberfest. I also think it would be nice if there were more definite transitions between the different zones. The way Action Zone just sort of "flows" into Oktoberfest really annoyes me. This is also the case with Coney Mall into Rivertown, and Rivertown into Hanna Barberra Land.
matt3224
I don't think they need one now... but in the future i think it would be a good idea. They always need expanding and soon enough they will run out of space... behind FOF has a lot of room (good area for a new section)
italianchef
I don't think that a new area is needed either. As a matter of fact, I think that Oktoberfest ought to be annexed up to and including Festhaus by International Street. Why? Because Festhaus represents Germany, as The Eiffel Tower and what used to be The French Bakery represents France, as International Street Pizza represents Italy, the way Fiesta Snacks represented Mexico and the way Double Dragon Express represnted China. I'd like to make International Street more Epcot-like and annexing Festhaus would help. As far as the rest of Oktoberfest goes - I'd have it annexed by Paramount Action Zone. Heck, Adventure Express can be renamed Young Indiana Jones (as it's a family coaster) and have a replica of Indy for theming effect. And Sling Shot is as action of a ride that most people can handle. What do the rest of you folks think about my idea?
fyrfyter
I think a new area is needed and by FoF is not necessarily the place to put it. i would like to see a new area with a futurisitic type of theme, will really glitzy and lighted stuff. i think putting this area, like past Rivertown or behind FXAT would be the best ideas yet. PKICoasterFreek
All of the ideas sound good, but I think personally that PKI still has plenty of room for the time being. They probubly don't need a new section until the 2004 season or the season after, when PKI will probubly be getting new attractions and meed more space. PKI_Man
you probibly know where the FOF is that is a good idea 4 2007 you know it might happen
Dane
I just got a idea, "Why create a new area when the old ones need help anyway?"
mars1825
Before they add a new area to the park they need to refurbish the old areas. They already have enough room for something new in an already existing area. I could see a new area in a couple of years but not right now. Stitch
I dont consider the changing of a name to be removal, Oktoberfest will probably stay just because it has allways been at pki like rivertown has.
dr zoidberg
look to see oktoberfest to be changed this season. with the supposive bubba gumps taking oktoberfest gardens place this year, watch for the Action Zone sign to be moved more out by festhaus. those are my predictions - zoid
Stitch
Why would they change the name of the entire area for the introduction of the "Bubba Gump" resteruant? I don't see the Action Zone sign moving.
dr zoidberg
the whole area wouldn't be named "Bubba Gumps" but rather an Action Zone extension. but then again i could be wrong. i guess we'll have to wait - zoid
FOF
I think they should bring back the Action Zone shows that they had at the water tower the first year the former Adventure Village became Action Zone, those shows were cool.
tommyh88
They are fixing up the current areas already. This year, look at Rivertown. Coney Mall's buildings also were reapinted and look great. Look at Nickelodeon Central and Hanna-Barbera Land. Not to mention, The Larosa's expansion on International Street, the repainting, and new signage. This year, they are also redoing the fountains. There are probably many ideas in the future.
AZ Kinda Guy
I think they should bring back the Action Zone shows that they had at the water tower the first year the former Adventure Village became Action Zone, those shows were cool. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the show from the water tower cancelled because of the Colombine tragedy? If you remember, the Action Zone stunt show featured a shoot out and Colombine occured soon after the show began.
Stitch
I think that you might be correct.
Beastfreak
The show in Action Zone was not shut down due to Columbine High School. If you remember near the end flames shot out of the top of the tower. They always had to have a fire and safety person present for that incase something goes wrong. Plus, because of the possibility of something going wrong with the flames, maybe shooting 20 ft in the air instead of 5ft, they could not run Skyflyer at the same time. So they shut down the show because of the large crowds that gathered and blocked the entrance/exit to the area (a safety hazard seen by the fire and safety personel) and the inability to run a "pay-for-play" ride. The less they could run Skyflyer the fewer people that could go on. The fewer people that could go on in a day meant the less money they made. The park is all about money, if the tower wasn't in the place that it was in, then you might still see that show.
Return_of_Yogi
The guns DID make a difference though, shortly before the show was cancelled, they were forced to remove the guns, due to the recent school shootings, I learned this from one of my Ent. Sups.
ThRiLLkiLL
I did a search for this question but I couldn't find the answer. Can anyone tell me how much unused land PKI has? Just wondering how much further back they can go before they reach the end of the land owned by the park. Thanks!
SOB_TOM
Heres the reference point I was told about: The Racer is the exact middle of the land that PKI owns. Another reference is that PKI owns back to the river, which is the gulley you see aways back from Tower.
ThRiLLkiLL
Thank you SOB TOM. I've always wondered about this and I'm glad to finally know.
Stitch
If you go Here you can see all of PKI's land.

teenageninja
That's missing WaterWorks and some more land to the south, but besides that it's a good pic. I still think that Oktoberfest should be taken out. Also we won't see Adventure Express themed to Indiana Jones because Disney has the right to Indy.
