The Interpreter Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The banking starts before the tunnel does, and always has...well, except the first season. Then, the tunnel never started... http://www.rcdb.com/ig67.htm?picture=3 Quote

The Interpreter Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Old? Old? The Coney Island Cyclone is old. Leap The Dips is old. The Beast old? Pshaw. Quote

I would hate to get stuck on an old wood coaster like The Beast. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Yeah, far better to get stuck on a new wood coaster? Ha Ha! Quote
Beast08 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Yes, new wood is always better than old wood. Quote
tigellinus Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Yeah, far better to get stuck on a new wood coaster? Ha Ha! El Toro lift, anyone!? Quote
goofywdw Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 ^Don't tease us! I love that lift. Except that would just feel weird on The Beast. I like the slow tempting speed. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Is it just me or is part of the tunnel missing? I don't think so. Looks like this is right before the tunnel to me? Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I don't know when I will ever be in Action Zone area this year with all of the amazing changes in Rivertown. Fine by me.. the less people in line for Drop Tower, the happier I will be! Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Be careful what you wish for...the shortest lines I have ever seen for Drop Tower are usually when it is closed! Quote
bzahlong Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Drop Tower is all yours, it goes up, it comes down. I'd ride The Beast all day long. (maybe take a 15 minute break to ride Diamondback) Quote
coasterguy15 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Ya, if you look at my post on the bottom of page 2, I corrected my mistake. Thanks for the clarification guys. Quote
gigacoaster2k Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Be careful what you wish for...the shortest lines I have ever seen for Drop Tower are usually when it is closed! When I went on September 27 last year when Haunt was just starting, the park was dead. That was the day I got 13 rides on DT in one day. I remember running all the way through the queue at night, right up to the gate. I was the ONLY person in the queue.. I looked up and the ride was only half full. That had to be the single greatest moment of my day. Drop Tower is all yours, it goes up, it comes down. I'd ride The Beast all day long. (maybe take a 15 minute break to ride Diamondback) But.. Beast and Diamondback go up and down, up and down, and up and down again.. Quote
Tomkatt7 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 The photo is amazing! While riding, it doesn't seem, to me anyways, to be banked that much. Look at how far up on it's edge that thing is. Looks to be almost a 45 degree angle!!! the ride seems so flat and fast when I'm on it. Quote

Fine by me.. the less people in line for Drop Tower, the happier I will be! I agree one hundred and fifty percent. More time for me and my precious to be alone. Drop Tower is all yours, it goes up, it comes down. I'd ride The Beast all day long. (maybe take a 15 minute break to ride Diamondback) How could you say such a thing? Quote
Beast Man Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 This is great news.I think The Beast ran really great last season and this will make it even better this year. Quote
welchce Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I have a strong feeling that 2009 will be a year that none of us will ever forget. Quote
King Maple The Tree King Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 ^ I know, right?! -Diamondback -Rivertown Junction -Beast Retracking -Beast entrance -Fencing around splashdown Anything else? I just hope they spruce up the train a little. I realize it primarily serves as transport to and from the waterpark, but some fresh paint here and there and cleaning up the station would do the old Rivertown some good. The train is a great centerpiece to Rivertown. Maybe Mr. Helbig's little joke about the 'trains' at the KIC winter blues party is a hint of things to come. Quote

Honestly, there was probaly only 800-1000 people there and they were all in line for the haunts Quote

goofywdw Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I was so pumped for the first day of the Haunt. I worked that night and the atmosphere while waiting before the park to open was so great. The hardcore music, all of the props and everything, the fog machines going. Too bad it was windy or it would have been more "scary" but I love the Haunt. My favorite part would probably be when they start playing the hardcore music at the front gate and they open up the metal doors and all of the monsters would run out and start scaring. So fun! Quote

October is my favorite time to visit the park. You can't beat riding The Beast in the woods with the changing color of the leaves. I am guessing ridding DB is going to be just as fun this October! Oh haha, well ill stick with Beastie It will always be Beastie to me, unless they come up with a new name that is better. Farily Odd Coaster is the worst name for a Coaster in the world and a shame to put it on such a nice little ride. Quote
