welchce Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 An interesting concept coming from Europe. It looks like EPCOT but inside. http://www.diamonda.nl/index.php?option=co...29&Itemid=2 Quote
fcbaseball Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 This might be the most comical idea I have ever seen. Quote
welchce Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Yeah, and even the voice guy sounds like something you'd hear advertising Disney. Quote
fcbaseball Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Its not even the Disney replication that I find funny. Its that this guy thinks that the attractions he has thought up are entertaining enough to make people want to come back to the park over and over again. The "educational" attraction is only good for one ride. No one goes back to EPCOT to ride only Spaceship Earth. EPCOT provides many thrilling attractions that draw back visitors and this video has zero. When the thrilling ride in your park is a spinning wild mouse, something is wrong. Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Somebody tell Mark Shapiro on a dark night. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 That is um, interesting. Seems to be similar to EPCOT, but not as well executed or thought out. An attraction called "Why" and another one called "Why Not?" If this thing is ever built, I would be surprised. Not to mention the architecture for the actual "climate controlled" building seems a bit lackluster. Not to mention the renderings are on the weak side, and do not even show any of the structural elements. And perhaps the biggest reason I doubt this is developed is because of the economy. Even Ferrari World in Abu Dhubai has delayed its opening by a year. That project, which was designed by Cincinnati based Jack Rouse Associates has some very interesting attractions going into it. Avatar Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Yes it was interesting, but in my opinion a gamble. I was distracted by the guys voice and knew it was from Disney. I played some audio of attractions I thought he did like the monorail and then it dawned on me. He makes all the prerecorded announcements on the resort buses. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Looks cool, but I praobbly would not go even if it was local to me. Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Ooh. I want to ride the "Interactive Diversity Poll" ride again!!! I'll say one thing for this: it's robust. Quote
RailRider Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Wow doesn't that look like something that will never get off the ground. Great renderings, very detailed, Im ready to invest. Does the "This is Diamonda" remind anyone else of "This is Cyberdyne?" Quote
CedarPointer Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I totally thought that when I first heard it... Is this a joke? It looks like a 5-year-old designed it! Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 That must be a very talented five year old! Quote
HTCO Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 if it is educational in any way shape of form.. 90% of America will probably not want to go.. the American people are generally looking for great thrills when they look for an amusement park, not another boring field trip that's educational.. looks like a big waste of money and land to me.. Quote
HTCO Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 EDIT: delete this post, stupid computer did it twice Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Yeppers...can you say Splendid China? Quote
CedarPointer Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Apparently, Splendid China was quite a good attraction, too. However, nobody ever visited, so it didn't really matter. Quote
Oldschool75 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Seems like an advertisement for a Scientology resort~ Quote
