CedarPointer
Hmm. I thought Paramount, oh, I don't know, wanted to get out of the theme park business?

jzarley
^ No problem...it's just amazing how long Paramount has been talking about building a park in Asia. (Before the Korea park they had also announced plans for Japan and China.)

HTCO
This should be fun to watch them bail out again, just before failure.

Beast Man
Paramount is not actually doing the parks. They are just licensing their name and films to the developers.
The Interpreter
And they is Viacom. It was CBS who wanted out of the park business, and extracted such a high price from Cedar Fair, who wanted the Paramount Parks. At one time, Viacom owned the parks, but when Viacom split into Viacom and CBS, CBS "got stuck" with the low growth North American theme parks. Viacom has since also licensed Nick Universe to Mall of America in Minnesota, mere miles from Valleyfair of Cedar Fair fame.
