May 28, 200917 yr I agree that was uncalled for, you probably haven't even seen what KIE has to offer.
May 28, 200917 yr (even if they put KIE on it UGH) I think this was a little uncalled for. I agree that was uncalled for, you probably haven't even seen what KIE has to offer. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA sorry... If you go through posts of years ago you'll see me there long before I was here.... but there are a few ppl and only a few kind of important ppl here that understand what went down a few years ago... and drove quite a few ppl away from that site... so please... i know EXACTLY what kind of immaturity KIE has to offer... unless things have done a complete 180... which i doubt highly....
May 28, 200917 yr Ty, Congratulations. I think it is VERY cool that you won...and I for one am not surprised in the least. See ya, J.D.
May 28, 200917 yr I'm very glad I did not have to judge this contest. Many of the entries I've seen are truly fantastic. Any decision the judges made would have been criticized. It's a contest, and there was to be only one winner! Congratulations, Ty!
May 28, 200917 yr Why do you guys gotta be hating Ty? He entered the contest and won fair and square. We should be congratulating him. Good work, Ty! We're not hating on Ty, it's a good picture he took. It's just that there are other pictures on here that, imo, are better.
May 28, 200917 yr And that's why judging artistic works is so hard. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and your opinion is just as objective as anyone else's...in your own opinion. And we are all like that, even those of us who think we are not or at least claim not to be. It's also why grading essay tests is so much harder than grading multiple choice tests (which have their own set of problems).

May 28, 200917 yr I like it too. They officialy have thousands of DB pics by now. It was a part of the park less discovered. Will you let us know what that prize is? Just curiosity
May 28, 200917 yr The fact that the photo includes DB as part of it notwithstanding... angrybeaver's photo owns all posted, provided it was taken in an area that is legally accessable to the general public.
May 28, 200917 yr Will you let us know what that prize is? Just curiosity I'll take a photo for you angrybeaver's photo owns all posted, provided it was taken in an area that is legally accessable to the general public. Nick took that photo from White Water Canyon's exit pathway. I personally think his shot is fantastic.

Just curiosity I considered they might "have thousands of DB pics," but I really liked the way this came out. It was my entry into the contest. I also considered this photo, again, just because I liked the way it came out. First successful attempt at a panoramic...

It's also why grading essay tests is so much harder than grading multiple choice tests (which have their own set of problems). Unless you're grading the MBE portion of the Bar Exam, where a muktiple choice test asks you to pick the BEST answer, meaning there is more than one right answer. I'm glad I never had to take this test as I took the Bar the year before Indiana required this! Those lawyers on this site will know what I'm talking about!

It's a contest, and there was to be only one winner! Congratulations, Ty! I've got to agree with this comment. I've seen less than 10 of the 200+ photos submitted and I'd find it hard to choose between them; I can't imagine looking at the other 190 and trying to pick a winner. Congrats to the winner. To the rest of you who have posted your pictures here (and on your trip reports) all I can see is good effort - I'm impressed with all your artistic/photographic capabilities. I only wish I was that good.
May 28, 200917 yr I'm not saying it's not a good picture. I actually think that it is a very good picture. The only problem is, this isn't exactly a "Ride Warriors" picture. I figured that something would only win if it was clearly a picture that only an exclusive Ride Warriors participant could have taken. (For example, Justin's.) I guess that wasn't part of the stipulations, so I guess I figured wrong. Wait, how could Justin's have been taken only if he was a Ride Warriors participant? I'm not saying it's not a good picture. Simply that it must have been an original photo taken at Kings Island during Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend. And how do the reps at KI and others that did the judging know that the pictures were taken furing RWCW? Diamondback FOF just havin' fun and being curious like always.

Right, there is absolutely no way to tell when a picture was taken, so they had to just assume that it was taken during Ride Warrirors Weekend I suppose. (And I'm not suggesting that it wasn't taken during Ride Warriors Weekend.) And I meant that Justin's picture was clearly taken by a Ride Warrior, unless there is another way to get that shot without being behind the scenes of The Racer.
May 29, 200917 yr Interesting. I'm registered both here and at "the other site." Comparing the two topics on the same subject, the negativity here is pretty disappointing. Can we not just put a smile on a congratulate him? His picture is good, and it is obvious that some were better, but instead of being negative about it, why not post positive comments? Be supportive, not negative! This is a good picture Ty. Very different, fresh perspective! Congratulations!
May 29, 200917 yr I just took a look at it, and I'll say up front I know NOTHING about photography, or art. I loved the winning picture. The tree branches in the foreground, and the SOB in the background! An interesting perspective. I though that Jackson's pic of DB in the sun was great too, but I'll bet that out of 200 pictures, 180 were probably some variation of DB. Hard to separate from the pack that way. Congrats to Ty, and all that entered. While everyone couldn't win, be happy you got to go, and participate. I wanted to be there very bad, but got stuck at home.
May 29, 200917 yr Negativity? His win was posted here long before it showed up over there. Terpy, just sayin'
May 29, 200917 yr (even if they put KIE on it UGH) I think this was a little uncalled for. Well he is a mod on KIE.
May 29, 200917 yr So? People are people. I don't let my 'friends' tell me who I can and cannot associate with...I hope it hasn't come to this here...

May 29, 200917 yr No. To go to RWCW, you had to be associated with a group. Had he gone as, say, a member of Western New York Coaster Club, it would have said so. Same for KIC....
May 29, 200917 yr Well congrats to Ty... after all of the great photos in his TR's it is nice to have one pay off for him. I said to myself several times throughout the event that a picture consisting of a not widely photographed ride would win the contest. The people are having fun in the pic and the splash is timed just right. You can see SoB in the background which is nice as well as the tree in front view. It is everything Kings Island rolled into one. Congrats again and kudos for taking a good photo. **It has taken me almost 3 years to do it but I finally hit 100 posts
May 29, 200917 yr Well, I entered two photo contests with the same shot....and I'm one for two. Yay! It's a nice photo, Ty...if you can find a shot I haven't taken....you're already a winner in my book! Here's the winning, and not winning photo! I think it captured the jist of RWW very nicely....Diamondback ERT!!!! -Zach

The part I put in bold, that's the main reason I sent that one in. The park already has enough Diamondback shots, and they probably got really repetitive. Same goes with Racer, Son of Beast, and The Beast. But who else would've sent one in of Congo Falls?
May 29, 200917 yr Very nice pic. I am not much of a picture person, so anyone who can take a cool pic has my respect! Congrats on the win!
