PamG
We are planning a trip to KI in July, we will be there on a Thursday. Do you think we need more than one day in the park. We want to ride most of the roller coasters.
IndyGuy4KI
What day of the week are you going? If it is a Saturday, you will need at least 2 days!
HTCO
I recommend 2 days. Even if you just want to ride just the roller coasters. You might be able to ride everything in one day but just in case you don't, or you want to ride others again, there is always the pay once, visit twice package. It's a great deal. BoddaH1994
Hi and welcome to KIC! It's difficult to say how busy a random Thursday may be at Kings Island, but I'd guess you could ride most rollercoasters in one day. However Kings Island has a lot to offer in terms or rides, shows, foods and environment - all of which are a gem in themselves. It would be difficult to experience all that Kings Island has to offer in one day.
The Interpreter
And if you only plan a one day trip, and it pours the entire day, what then? Terpy, who once spent three days watching it rain...and rain....and rain...in New Orleans...
flightoffear1996
When I go to the park I only spend about 5 4-5 hours. But I live 20 minutes away. I would go to the park two days if you have to drive awhile.
PamG
Thanks for the info. We will be driving from Columbus, Cedar Point on Monday and Tuesday, then KI on Thursday. When we visited Busch Gardens Tampa last summer it was a slow day and we rode everything in the park in a day and a half. We live 20 minutes from Busch Gardens Europe and we also hear some funny things said by guests!! (I know this belongs on the other thread. LOL.) Griffon is our newest coaster and when you get to the top you have a beautiful view of the York River. One day we were riding on it and the people next to us said, "Hey, look you can see the ocean from up here!" Cracked us up....
PamG
I would say one day with the VIP package ($199) or two without. Heck, I could live in the park. Actually we are buying Platinum passes, since we are also going Kings Dominion, Dorney Park in Pennsylvania and Cedar Point this summer. I know what you mean. We live at BGE, there every Friday afternoon and two or three times a week during summer.
SOB_TOM
Welcome to the forums! From my experiences, you cannot go to KI without going to the shows as well, and to catch all those PLUS all the rides, thats a two day venture, so I would plan on Thursday riding everything, and Friday (which from when I worked there 02-06) is going to be busier, so I would hit the show lineups HARD. PamG
Welcome to the forums! Good point! I think that may be what we need to do.
I_heart_pki
I would take two days so you don't feel rushed. There is a lot to do at the park and many of things you will want to do over and over again (Diamondback).
