CoastersRZ
Alas, I likely won`t make it up to KI on any of those days to enjoy the extended hours in the evening. I will be down at Coney, which also has extended hours on Saturdays this year, and is open until 10pm every Saturday through the end of August beginning on June 13th. Beast79
Best time to ride Beast at night is when there is fog down in the valley.
buckeyemaniac
WHAT!?!?!? NOOOO! We don't get out til close to midnight on most Saturday's during the peak season anyway...I don't want to be getting home at 2:30 in the morning. This is bull... CoastersRZ
If I were you, I`d be really careful about what you post on the internet. Remember, they are public and you never know who is going to read these forums. It may very well be your superiors! And besides, its more hours in which you get paid, which translates into larger paychecks.

I used to work in the restaurant business, and when a group came in right before closing, that meant we got to stand around for awile before the final closing stuff and get paid until they left...... The difference is, we'll still have lines right up until midnight, and we supervisors will still have to go up to the office afterward to approve shifts and turn in paperwork. That takes a half hour at least. And that's if you get up there early. This is terrible for the employees.
The Interpreter
Certainly. A business being open and paying people is bad for employees. Well, if they don't want to work there, there are many others now who will!

The Interpreter
No one is way too strong a statement. I said it once, I will say it again. If an employee finds those hours totally unacceptable, there are many, many unemployed people who would love to be able to work those hours. Touchdown
Seriously, why would any of you consider going on a Saturday in the summer to the park? Oh yes, I would love to see the lines for all the rides full! But good for KI for extending the hours, it will make the sheep that go there happier that they get an extra two hours to ride, as for employees yup it sucks, just remember you have a job though. Hopefully you will not have to close Sat and open Sun.
Brandon
Finally I remember CP doing this. Me too. Hope CP brings this back as well. Well they're open until 11 on Saturdays and 1 on 4th of July
CoastersRZ
And for those of you who remember. Kings Island used to be open until 11pm on Saturdays for years and years during the peak summer season. They started closing at 10pm on Saturdays back in 2004 or 2005 I believe. skaterboy22101
Does this mean the fireworks show will be at midnight?
Skywriter
I believe it will still be at it's normal time of 10:00pm.

jondrewfoo
im pretty sure the fireworks will be at midnight. why on earth would they have them at ten and have everyone confused thinking the park is closing? the fireworks have always signified that it was time to start heading out. and Kings Islands own statement says the park will have fireworks any day they are open 10pm or later. WHODEY2007
I can remember in years previous that they had the fireworks at 10 and on the TV monitors around the park they had something on the screen about still being open.

Think about what you have written. The neighbors already have enough conniptions about the fireworks now. Think what would happen if they were at midnight. The fireworks will be at 10....not midnight. That would be the last thing the park needs...intentionally and knowingly disturbing the neighbors' peace. CoastersRZ
Yep. Just look to the past. Back when they had Nights of Fire, the park stayed open until midnight, but the fireworks display was held at 10pm.
House
Seriously, why would any of you consider going on a Saturday in the summer to the park? I don't see what the problem is with him venting on here, he is off the clock. He isn't doing any real harm, as long as he doesn't take this attitude with him to work. The Interpreter
You obviously have not worked for Cedar Fair...or seen what has happened to some who speak frankly about their employer and place of employment while off the clock...

At Disney, I always relished when the park was open till 12 and sometimes 1 when I was scheduled to work, because: 1. More hours=more money 2. Lines by the last hour were non-extant 3. I enjoyed seeing the park at night During RWW the night ert for DB was really cool, since it was the only ride open in the park..the last hour was esp cool, since there were only a small handful of us left riding in the entire park and, as a guest anyway, I enjoyed the stillness of the park. There are still those who would gladly work your job ina heartbeat, so I too would caution what you post here.
