KIBOB
This is fairly random but here goes, it seems as though KIs website has finally updated the crypt section of the rides page. They changed the picture, and i think that they changed the description a little. It looks like they are starting to encourage advertising it better. jondrewfoo
all they did was update the picture. not really that interesting, it still says the ride is much longer, it has cool effects and has 3 rows....

The Interpreter
Hurtling through the darkness, you'll come face-to-face with glistening, razor-sharp stalactites and roiling, red-hot lava pits, twisting and turning as you struggle against the fury of nature's polar opposites in a desperate effort to escape! Oh, really?

Oh, really? Ha I know i think that i got a little too excited for a minute there. I know that it still states a summary of the old tomb raider but it seemed like it was edited a little. Maybe i gave gave the crypt a little too much optimism after i seen that they changed the picuture which has been there since Paramount. Im sure that everyone is looking for a sign that this waste zone in the middle of a western oasis is going to change.
TheCryptRaider
They just make me so mad sometimes. Lying to make money. " Hurtling through the darkness, you'll come face-to-face with glistening, razor-sharp stalactites and roiling, red-hot lava pits, twisting and turning as you struggle against the fury of nature's polar opposites in a desperate effort to escape!" How about 'going up and down through darkness you'll come face to face with a poster of a goddess who's floating in the air! You'll come face-to-face with CEMENT, Metal walls and what used to be actual THEMING! Going up and down, how about we add a couple of boring flips in too as you're struggling against yelling about how stupid the ride is! Yay!' "Hourly Capacity 600 guests" -Wrong "Ride Length 2:55 minutes" -Wrong "Number of Seats 77 Stadium-Style seats divided into three rows" -Wrong "Flips Guests Upside-down 4 Times" -Wrong
The Interpreter
Cedar Fair will quickly rehab the former Paramount Parks websites to make them more like Cedar Point's. Wrong. Cedar Fair will quickly add descriptions of the food options available at each former Paramount Park, on an order of the excellent descriptions at Cedar Point. Wrong. Cedar Fair apparently doesn't think its target audience pays much attention to the former Paramount Parks websites, and thus they need not be a priority. Also, wrong. It's only been a bit less than three years since Cedar Fair took over. These things take time. Apparently lots and lots of time.

cholderfield
I don't understand what is taking so long with the websites. They're not user friendly or intuitive to begin with, and the fact that information presented is incorrect is even worse. "Cedar Fair - Where Else?" The Interpreter
Actually, this problem seems to plague only the former Paramount Parks' websites...Cedar Point, Dorney, Valleyfair, Knott's Berry Farm, etc., all have excellent websites. Heck, even Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom has a better and more up to date website than any former Paramount Park. Cedar Fair always had better websites than the Paramount Parks, but the time when it could be said "We will get to that some day, there are many more important things to be done" has long since passed. Apparently, Cedar Fair is unaware that much of its target audience relies heavily on the Internets for information. Or perhaps it thinks only Cedar Fair's legacy parks have target audiences who do, and it makes some sort of weird, unfair generalization about the target audiences for the former Paramount Parks. But, were that true, then why did they buy those parks? My head hurts.
SOB_TOM
Maybe its just me, but I would rather have a good park than a good website..... Excluding KIC of course
ajbt1981
Cedar Fair has a very similar issue with Diaster Transport at Cedar Point. I always get frustrated when I ride it because, with a little theming, it could really be a nice ride. And, would it really be that much trouble to change the theming of it every 3-4 years? For instance, DT could have a "Haunted" theme for the next 3 summers, than switch it up to a "Exploration" theme. Doing this with The Crypt would be difficult, how? SOB_TOM
monetarily and storage wise.....
KIBOB
It appears now as though they have changed the description of the ride as well, although if you click on the information link, the old summary pops back up. The new summary still seems a little bit "overstated" IMO.
coaster_junky
^i'm pretty sure that's still the same old description
Gordon Bombay
Even the little things they could do to just make it look better...couldn't they atleast cover up the maintenance area in there? Nothing looks more tacky then when you board the ride and see a cement floor and that work bench over in the corner. It's like spinning around in your garage....except that would probably be more fun.
coaster_junky
or at least put those egg carton things on the walls so you don't have to worry about your ears bleeding when a teenage girl's scream echos.
Gordon Bombay
Or do anything in that building. With how much of an emphasis Cedar Fair seems to have put on rider experience (i.e. bringing microphone headsets to rides, increasing capacity on rides like the train, the general atmosphere of rides like Diamondback) and how much they seem to care about quality and cleanliness.... it amazes me they let a ride like The Crypt still exist and think the guests are that stupid. I mean come on.... you wait in line only to hear muffled instructions because the poor ride operator can't yell over the microphone. You have no idea what the ride is and wait all that time only to get on a ride that is even shorter than it was at the beginning of the season and is just in a black room with crap all over the ground. It's not the flip flops, hats and lost articles that make it look tacky. It's the fake rocks that clearly show where the water and lighting once was that say.... "Hey, someone once gave a s**t about this ride, we don't"
CedarPointer
How about this: Use some glue on the peeling wallpaper (?) rock stuff in the queue, turn the lights inside the ride chamber off totally, and remove a few of the tacky plastic spiders in the queue. Also, could we please get some Febreeze for the queue? It smelled like pee last time I was there.

Beast79
About the work bench, back when there was a base around shiva you couldn't see it. I agree it does smell like someone took a leak inside the q and it would only take 5 seconds to spray some glue on the loose rockwall piece. CedarPointer
Well, the queue seems to encourage that sort of behavior. It's too dark and, well, unsupervised looking.

I've never understood why DT is inside. The point of a bobsled coaster is to see that you are not on a track, in the dark you can't see that, you just think you are on a mild coaster. coaster_junky
but when they have the themeing working on it, at one point it looks like you're going past one of those wierd robotic arms that's painting something and you can see very well that you are riding in a giant feed trough for livestock. pcc
I've been reading the boards for quite some time. I hadn't been on The Crypt since it's debut wayyyyy back when. It was one fantastic ride. I read the comments here and thought "surely it can't be THAT bad." Ha! I tell my husband what you all had said and he was like "WHY are you taking me on this?!" I told him I had to see for myself just how bad it really is. Well, we strap in and the operator announces the regular info about the ride..then says "This ride does not ONE...but TWO!!!!! flips" He sounded so darn excited about that. The ride began. I was not impressed. At. All. The ride stopped and everyone around us were going nuts clapping and wooing. My husband and I let out a big ole "BOO THIS SUCKS". I'll never get on that ride, unless one of my young daughters want to try it out. It really does belong in the kid section. What a sad, sad thing. Quick edit...just noticed the post on the pee smell. That was something we both noticed right off. My husband said "Oh my God. It smells like someone took a leak in here. You smell that? Pure urine! Disgusting." coaster_junky
^well, what did you expect, that poor bat has a rod shoved up it's butt and can't move, it doesn't have a choice but to go in there.
Tuskin
They need to just get rid of the ride all together and put a new flat in its place. The crypt has had its day I believe and that legacy is now over...
