Mr. Coastermania Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I heard somewhere that Kings Island is working on building a 3d coaster. How would this work?Wont you lose the glasses?
DropZone99 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 It already opened, Haven't you ridden Diamondback yet? You put on special hats that feature 3D Glasses and it shows an animation as if you were on a Roller Coaster! It's really awesome!

Diamondback96 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 On ridewarriornation.com, Disaster Transport's card shows people wearing 3D glasses. But I doubt KI's making a 3D coaster.
Fear the Four Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I've never been to Cedar Point so what is Disaster Transport? I know it's a ride and it's in the dark but what does it do?
DeLorean Rider Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 I've never been to Cedar Point so what is Disaster Transport? I know it's a ride and it's in the dark but what does it do? It's a poorly themed indoor bobsled coaster.
KIlover123 Posted July 9, 2009 Posted July 9, 2009 It's a poorly themed indoor bobsled coaster. nuff' said.
KIfan1980 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 To be clear, all roller coasters at Kings Island (and everywhere else that I can think of) are already in three dimensions. A two dimensional coaster would either be very straight or very flat.
coaster_junky Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 yea, and these too: http://rcdb.com/ir.htm?type=1&design=67
KIlover123 Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 http://rcdb.com/ig3676.htm?picture=1[ that looks amazing but short.
Fear the Four Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 http://rcdb.com/ig3676.htm?picture=1[ that looks amazing but short. That ride must get a very very low ride capacity probably around 500 pph but it does look like a fun ride even though It's kinda slow and a short ride.
Rustbucket Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I've never been to Cedar Point so what is Disaster Transport? I know it's a ride and it's in the dark but what does it do? One of the first guy who rode Disaster Transport said to Dick Kinzel said, "It was a disaster." It was not a favorable statement.
The Interpreter Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I bet that didn't transport Mr. Kinzel to the land of happiness!
Rustbucket Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I bet that didn't transport Mr. Kinzel to the land of happiness! Not quite. He admits DT was the biggest mistake ..... until TTD.
The Interpreter Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 And then he spent shiploads of nickels buying something or other from CBS. A wise purchase, yes, but at that price? Remains to be seen...
Oldiesmann Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 http://rcdb.com/ig3676.htm?picture=1[ that looks amazing but short. I'd much rather ride Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highland in Japan - 2:10 ride time. http://rcdb.com/ig3676.htm
Dbfan Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Its an indoor ride at Cedar Point. Very small cars, low capacity, and is barely themed with some wierd rocks. it is also a bobsled coater.
flightoffear1996 Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 ITs not a bob sled coaster as it only has one car per train. Its called something else can't remember what though.
FOFirehawkFAN Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 No it is classified as an Intamin Bobsled Coaster For anyone who is curious about what it looked like before it was closed and put indoors. And I have never seen anyone wearing the 3D glasses, there wasn't even someone selling them last time I was there. But also last time I was there, there was no lighting or effects or anything on the ride, it was just a pitch black bobsled ride.
The Interpreter Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 And at least some of us loved that ride when it was "out-of-doors" as some used to say...
