CedarPointer
Um, yeah, my Flight Deck shirt didn't even make it through one wash. And yes, I followed the directions on the tag. Just when I was starting to think I might have actually gotten a good deal...
Beast1979
It's Kings Island. I've come to learn that when your at Kings Island, a good rule of thumb is that everything is worth half as much as what you paid for it. So, you got a $2.50 shirt, if that. CedarPointer
Still, my CP shirts have lasted years. I'll have to think of Where Else I can find shirts... hmm!

Jasper
I didn't even know KI had 5 dollar shirts, I might have to go invest in some of these. I'll at least get one good wear out of it.
The Interpreter
If you are like me, you can't wear new clothing until it has been washed. I have not had problems with Cedar Fair apparel in the wash, though.
KYCavsFan
What a bummer. Those $5 shirts I bought on the street outside of GABP and Paul Brown stadium held together very well. Hard to believe that knockoff Reds and Bengals gear is more durable than King's Island gear.

Hard to believe that knockoff Reds and Bengals gear is more durable than King's Island gear. Then those probably weren't knock offs. More likely, they were stolen. But back on topic, I have a KI shirt that I wore maybe six times before the collar started to separate from the rest of the shirt. ANd I paid more than $5.00 for it. My gray Diamondback shirt has held up well for almost a year, though.
violakat03
The only shirt I've had problems with is my original Son of Beast shirt. The silk screened design started cracking almost immediately. I haven't worn it in over 5 years and it looks like I've worn it every day for 5 years! I'm not going to wear it much to prevent it from falling apart further, as it's the original logo with the loop. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have a Beast shirt that I bought in 96 or 97 and I've worn a whole lot. Still looks brand new, except for the trace of blue paint on the back of one sleeve from art class in junior high.

Monroe
"Mom always says don't play ball in the house!!" (True fans will know what I am talking about.) What does that teach us? Well it says that super glue will not fix a priceless vase, and saving a lot of money will not get you quality. (At times spending a lot of money will not get you quality either but.....) The Interpreter
I'm still constantly amazed that Cedar Fair sells those VIP jackets (the ones they gave out as a season pass premium) for $5 at various parks at times. You know, the ones they said were a $59.99 value? Economically, something is worth what someone else will pay for it. And I am not one to knock a "free" jacket, but $59.99 for that thing? Get real! Then there were the Firehawk First Rider shirts, which not long thereafter showed up for sale with a purchase from the photo booth!

Let's not forget the "$120!!!" Scooby Doo prize! Given that some people will spend several hundred dollars to win one of those, will it worth half what as much as they paid for it? Terpy, who many years ago worked games in a park, and who was often stunned to watch people play again and again and again and again...to win a prize worth perhaps the cost of three games (and nowadays, few prizes are worth the price of even one game). And the people who replayed the most often were usually, but not always, those who played the games very poorly.
CedarPointer
Like my dad always tells me, "When ya' buy cheap, ya' get cheap". Well, considering that it was, at one point, a $17.50 shirt, I don't think that applies.
paperg
Well, what can I expect? I bought 2 of them $5.00 shirts yesterday. I haven't even taken them outta the bag yet. Wash it first before I wear or wear em first before they get washed????
The Interpreter
This may be one where the old axiom applies: "You pays your money and you takes your chances!" Terpy, who would have no option BUT to wash them first...or he'd quickly be visiting the local ER.

I only wish this was funny. When I was a young teen, my stepmother didn't believe I had to have new clothing washed before I can wear it. Away I was sent to scout camp, with new uniforms in tow. By day two, my legs and arms had swollen to twice their normal size, and away to the ER I was sent. She never doubted that again. And the funny thing? I did my own laundry, then and now. I guess she had thought I would only have been wasting time, laundry detergent, water, electricity and natural gas!
DropZone99
I don't care if they fall apart when I wish them, I just won't wear them. I just hope they still have them next time I go to Kings Island so I can buy 4 Shirts!

Touchdown
So how much is my free: -Diamondback 1st Rider -Firehawk 1st Rider -Maverick 1st Rider -2009 Coastermania T -2008 Coastermania Hoodie worth? Who had to take it further since giving away a 12 oz cup of Pepsi is pretty close to nothing (in fact I bet HW might even get thier Pepsi for free given all the Pepsi logos over that park.) I dont know its pretty easy to guess the quality of a T-shirt, feel the thickness of the cotton, if its thick its a quality shirt, thin not so much, if you can see through it when held up to the light well that would be a POS thats about to fall apart the first time you wash it . skaterboy22101
My DB first rider shirt held up, and I wear it a lot. Also, I bought a SoB shirt yesterday for $5. It's the one that says "Some Serious Wood". The colar already started to tear and I only wore it once.

kiruler102
My dad told me not to even bother with them, they are just tryin to sell your junk t shirts. i mean shirts that dont sell thats why there only 100 nickels!!!
IBEW_Sparky
I will also give a + to the Db First Rider T shirt. I wear my 'regular" one a lot, and I was comparing it to my numbered one that is hanging in my closet after being worn just long enough for the Auction rides to be over with... and the only difrerence is that that design/logo on the one I wear is a little bit faded which is to be expected from washing/drying.
