Questions of my own...

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm just an anime fan from the Chicagoland area that's taken an interest in coasters. I figured that I should just start another topic instead of asking semi-irrelevant questions in the other threads.

We're going to visit Kings Island while we're in Indianapolis next week (most likely Saturday. Ick, crowds.). What I want to know is:

- Can tickets be bought in any stores? I've heard of them being available at Marsh and Kroger, but I'm not 100% sure on this. My sister and I are paying for our own admission. Then there's the fact that my mom's trying to avoid using her credit card, so that rules out buying online.

- Are there any nearby places outside the park to eat at? I don't want to want to pay the price for food on the inside (neither does mom), except for maybe some water or a pop.

Ummm... I'm pretty sure the other questions I had were answered while I was lurking, too shy to post.

Kroger, yes. I don't know about marsh though.

At the exit of KI you take a left down Kings Island drive. Then you will get to an intersection and there is a mcdonalds right across the street. You might have passed it on your way there. You take a left, and there is.. Outback, Skyline Chili, Bob Evans, Frishes(REALLY GOOD!), Burger King, Ruby Tuesdays, Wendys, Mcdonalds, Perkins, and a numerous amount of gas stations and hotels.

Okay, Krogers for tickets... how much are they? Oh, and before I forget, how much is parking?

Thanks!

I think $34.95, there is a Kroger on 741, the same road that all the restaurants are on just down a little further. Parking is $10.00.

edit: I hope your trip goes well and stay safe!!

edit: thanks to Oldiesman for picking on an old man. ;)

Parking is $15.00 I think. The prices at Kroger? No clue.

I got tickets for $28.99 at my local Kroger and parking is $10. If you're going to leave for lunch get to the park well before opening so you can get a parking space that is close. I think you can pony up even more cash for closer spaces but $10 is normal parking.

They have been running some specials at times, but the standard price from Kroger's is $34.95. I do not know if they are running a different promo price right now or not. Best bet is to say $34.95 and hope that there is a special price.

Saturday is a good day in July because of the midnight closing.

If you're concerned about food prices, check out the Backyard BBQ. It's only $12.99 for adults, has great food, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet and you don't have to waste an hour leaving and reentering the park!

I think $34.95, there is a Kroger on 747, the same road that all the restaurants are on just down a little further. Parking is $10.00.

That's actually 741. 747 is the road that Tri-County Mall is on.

^Your avatar serves you well Oldiesman, thank you for catching that I will correct it.

The backyard barbecue is wonderful...the only problem with it is you don't get to eat it until 3. I highly recommend it. I should mention the price includes all you can drink beverages during the barbecue.

The OP says they will be in Indianapolis before going to Kings Island, In the Indianapolis area the Kroger billboards are advertising Kings Island tickets for $28.99. so it sounds like you may want to buy them in Indianapolis before you head to Cincinnati. Backyard BBQ is good if you want to stay at the the park but since you suggested on your own, HTCO did a great job listing choices and locations.

Yes, I noticed they were advertised for cheaper in Indianapolis. Probably because people are less likely to buy them that far away. Make it a deal too good to pass up and you might attract a new audience.

And HTCO listed exactly where I head. Except it's a right out of the park, not a left. ;) There's just about everything you could think of on 741, and that's where I always head to eat if I'm spending the day at the park.

Also, if you can't find what you're looking for on 741, head down to Mason-Montgomery Road (one exit south of KI Drive). You will find a huge selection of restaurants in that general area, including a Steak 'n' Shake.

I think they are the same price at my local Meijer in Indy. (See screen name.)
