fcbaseball
^^ A ProSlide of that size built on that kind of terrain? That would definitely cost that much. That thing is down right amazing with the terrain and the huge drop into the tunnel. It is a waterslide.... with a lifthill.... ridiculous! Ridiculous and awesome! Shaggy
I think it's a fantastic choice for HW. That area of the park is their bread and butter... so good for them! Shaggy

DaveStroem
I am not much on water slides, but this looks pretty sweet. Here is hoping it is warm enough during Holiwood Nights to get some ERT on it. I wonder how wet you would get if they turn off the water falls above some of the tunnels. Beast79
I'm really excited to see how this rocket comes out to be! I worked really hard to improve the rocket at GWL since it was a prototype. HW's is just down right huge and I can't wait to ride it with all the different updates and the new boats that I helped modify and improve! Guest rcfreak339
WOW! That water coaster looks incredible! It's so long, so many hills, so much air, Looks good capacity wise and one awesome name! For people that haven't ridden a water coaster they are amazing. They give more air then most coasters and HW's looks no different!
Beast1979
As long as I'm in a bathing suit, I'm stoked about this ride. When I'm not, meh. Great addition to the waterpark, but me being me I like to see the Amusement Park side grow.

Dbfan
Holiday World must have made some good money choices, becase in the past 4 years, they really have improved that park with some great rides. A year after Pilgrems Plunge they build the most expensive thing there in 64 years? wow.

najellin
Man, I was hoping Holiday World was finally going to move into the 21st century and get a steel coaster! Proslide is def 21st century, but Splashin' Safari is already the #2 waterpark in North America Pat Cook! If you're going to expand your visiting records, then build a freakin' steel coaster already, old bag (J/K, I saw her greeting guests at the front gate this year and she seemed really down-to-earth). My family has this running joke that everytime we go to Holiday World we might see a "celebrity" and we'd scream "OMG!!! It's Pat Cook!" Wow, I can't believe how off topic that just got (LOL). Anyways.... they should advertise it as a "watercoaster" to the public (b/c it would make more sense to them that way), or say it's a water slide with "LIM-like" launches throughout (AKA: Mr. Freeze meets ZOOMbabwe, but on a much smaller scale). Honestly, before they build a new ride, they need to fix the elevator lift on their new slide, because not a lot of people got on it when I went there in June (I didn't see anyone turn back around and ride it again either). I mean, when a ride's tipping over and creeking and it's brand new, then that's not a good sign. A friend of a friend (who just happens to be an engineer), said it was closed when they went not too long ago (but that he wouldn't have gone on it anyway, because it didn't have very good safety measures). I don't blame him for not wanting to ride it. I rode 2x's (the first time was OK I guess), and the 2nd time scared me more than any other ride I've ever been on (I seriously thought there was a slight possibility that I was going to die on that ride up the elevator). Drop Zone: scared a little bit. Mr. Freeze: no way scared. Voyage: only when pieces of wood are flying by my face (which happened to me the first year it opened) or when it's raining. Pilgrim's Plunge: scared me more than when I watched the Exorcist people!!!!!
najellin
Splashin Safari is a complete waterpark...Think about it. They have like every type of waterslide ever made. The only thing missing is a Plummet Slide. They don't have the surfing ride (that's found at Kings Island's waterpark). They don't have the "V-Shaped" water-ride that's found at a few parks around the US. They don't have an "Atlantis" type water ride (@ Sea World). Need I mention more things they don't have? Splashin' Safari has 2 wave pools (three if you count the new one as two connected ones) and 2 lazy rivers (which is just stupid). They also have two of almost the exact same kiddie attractions (one's themed and the other isn't, big difference, NOT). Splashin' Safari is 1/2 innovative fun rides, 1/2 recycled rides and water slides that look like they would fit perfectly at a local public swimming pool (mainly the two at the waterpark's entrance). najellin
This ride will be a maintenance nightmare. And, LIMs and water? DZZT! It's been done...Many, Many of times... What makes no sense to me is that Kentucky Kingdom has a Proslide and they're just 1/2 an hour away. I thought parks prided themselves on being unique to their regional area (like Kings Island having the only surfing attraction in the Midwest, etc. etc.)
westcoaster
wow its only 1/2 hour away from Louisville, wow Yep they could have did something different for sure if thats the case! Six flags kk may expand there water park which my family loves its a nice park. . And I agree when is steel coaster coming, even a small suspended like flight deck? SOmething ? And i wish the world knew the debt left at holiday world, Santa is great to them, They must even beat ky' six flags out. and now with the indoor water park, big splash near them in french lick its a destination and for the 21 yr old crowd even a casino.... very near by:

What makes no sense to me is that Kentucky Kingdom has a Proslide and they're just 1/2 an hour away. I thought parks prided themselves on being unique to their regional area (like Kings Island having the only surfing attraction in the Midwest, etc. etc.) Holiday World is about a Hour from the greater metro area of Louisville, and it seems like a lot longer. Has to be one of the most boring drives ever. But trust me Deluge and Wildebeast aren't much different except the layout. For some the layout makes a world of difference, for me it doesn't. But yes Deluge isn't very much different from Wildebeast. Wildebeast has 8 drops, Deluge has 7. Wildebeast has 2 helix's, Deluge has 2. Deluge's height looks the same and the speed seems the same too. The main difference is the length.

My family has this running joke that everytime we go to Holiday World we might see a "celebrity" and we'd scream "OMG!!! It's Pat Cook!"... Sigh. First of all, there is no Pat Cook at Holiday World. Never was. Her name is Pat Koch. She is a very dear person of great wit, intelligence and empathy. She is the most youthful person I know over the age of 15. And she no longer runs Holiday World. I only wish she did. And even in a kidding way I do not appreciate you referring to her as an old bag. It is disrespectful and mean. You also need to know something. I know Pat Koch and know her well. She reads forums like these and might well see your comment. She and Paula also search the Internet for "Holiday World" and the Koch name to read all instances of comments (to better get customer feedback). The chances she will read your comment are near 100 percent. How does that make you feel? I also submit that Holiday World has expanded its visiting records almost beyond belief in the past ten years. They didn't do this by applying principles learned by playing Roller Coaster Tycoon. KYJoe
I think its a great idea myself, the slide looks like it will really help spread some people out in Splashin Safari. I also think they really need the two lazy river that they do have. Anytime its warm, the place is packed, I could not imagine what it would look like if there was only one lazy river still! I am sure pilgrims plunge will get all its kinks worked out, it is an intamin, hopefully it does not take several years like top thrill. I am excited to hit up the new ride next year, I am also looking forward to some nice cool fall Voyage rides.
