Thrill_Biscuit
Phantom Theater: "Well, im pretty sure other people wouldn't. Everything Cedar Fair does you have to say something really negative about it. I cant wait to see what they do with Nick U, id MUCH rather have the Peanuts gang in their than Nickelodeon. Snoopy is just better in my opinion. So read my signature, and say what you gotta say." ^I can feeeeel the flames... but was that directed at me for my green space comment or the previous poster's trigger-happy gunplay? CoastersRZ
Where was the news about Carowinds` Scooby being rethemed? I`m a little suspicious of the Sally dark rides being rethemed, simply because of the cost involved. Not to mention that Scooby has only been in residence in the building for six years now. It seems a little early to completely change the theme now. Although, I think its not out of the range of possibility, I just think that it seems highly unlikely. At any rate, I doubt that they completely remove the ride. At worst, they will retheme it to the Peanuts gang.
Justin_M17
Last Sunday I was discussing this with some other KIC'ers in Nick U. It makes almost no sense to re-theme a kids area from Nick to Snoopy & The Peanuts. Most kids today have no idea who Snoopy is, and the same with the rest of the peanuts. However, kids do know Spongebob, Avatar, Reptar, Scooby, etc. But it seems like this area will appeal more to people in their mid to late teens and older rather than the younger kids. Just my two cents worth.

Browntggrr
It's official. Scooby is leaving too. And SDatHC was probably the best-themed ride in KI (next to FoF). And how sad that statement really is. Is anyone really surprised by this? CF has had a long association with Peanuts, why would that have changed? This is no different than Paramount going to Nick characters from Hanna-Babara. Being a father of two young children, I personally like the change. Some of the Nick characters promote intelligent challenges, other characters don't even come close. As far as the Peanuts crew not being as visible as Nick characters- so what. There used to be a time where cartoons were only on Saturday mornings and very early mornings during the day.

CrashOverRided
Now that it appears to be official that Scooby is leaving, I have a favor to ask of KIC...please PLEASE try and arrange a special tour of The Haunted Castle for KIC members before it is dismantled. I would like to take as many photos of the interior as possible...something I never do while I am on the ride. A walk through would be my ideal, but I could also live with just riding through it a few times with permission to take photos. I hope that you might be able to pull this off...I KNOW it would mean a lot to me...and I am guessing I would not be alone. Here's to hoping... i doubt that will happen ....altho when phantom left there was a tour. It would be Awsome!! http://www.dafe.org/attractions/darkrides/...tom/phantom.php
Justin_M17
Speaking of KIC and Scooby... If SDATHC will be leaving next year, what are we going to use in place of the Mystery Machine for our traditional KIC pictures?

Phantom Theater
^Actually, last year they had all the props running and moving fluently on the Banstand in front of the Eiffel Tower at last year's haunt, along with the soundtrack and prop music playing. I enjoyed that very much, it brought back lots of memories.

PhantomTheater
Is anyone really surprised by this? CF has had a long association with Peanuts, why would that have changed? CF association began in 97 when they aquired Knotts, and expanded snoopy to other parks in 99. Nick at PP has a longer association.

Coney Islander
Don't look for SDatHC to be rethemed. I can't see them investing in it. Haha just found this video. I'm hoping they bring in Sally Corp in to redesign the ride. Sally Corp can theme it to just about anything. http://www.sallycorp.com/Darkrides/custom.htm My bet is that they'll take out all the scooby stuff and keep the ghost theme. Hope they make it scarier! http://www.sallycorp.com/Darkrides/Ghost%20Blasters%20II.htm
Phantom Theater
i dont see them moving Well, I remember when I went all th animatronics were moving and the music was BLASTING! CF being associated with Peanuts for 10 years isn't enough for a change? And since the splitting of hairs has begun, Paramount aquired Viacom in '95 and thus opened Splat City that same year. Nick Universe replaced Nick Central & what was left of Hanna-Babara Land in '06, so I am not really sure on what you are getting at.
Vortex
Some of you might not know that Scooby Doo is really just Ghost Blaster from Sally Co. Also it looks like Knott's Bear Farm also has a Ghost Blaster.
westcoaster
channel 9 wcpot tv confirmed no more scooby doo!!! Wow my 6year old was shocked, I say tear out the whole building and bring back the fantastic voyage snoopy style!!!!!!!!!! ha ha!!! that would be cool!!! any way I see it as the great pumpkin charlie brown!!! Coasterfun
My hopes are that: 1. It looks as good as Planet Snoopy at Cedar Point 2. They hire Sally to re-theme Scooby Doo and not the company who themed Disaster Transport
RingMaster
Some of you might not know that Scooby Doo is really just Ghost Blaster from Sally Co. Also it looks like Knott's Bear Farm also has a Ghost Blaster. That's what I'm hoping they'll transform it to, just Ghost Blasters. Maybe it'll get a vehicle overhaul like Kings Dominion's with the four-seater cars and we can have separated rooms with doors the cars go through. EDIT: If they can make the ride like this at Elitch Gardens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRmbOVhnl0Q I will be ecstatic.

CoastersRZ
I wouldn`t look for an overhaul to the ride vehicles, save for a fresh coat of paint to jetison the Mystery machine paint job. Believe it or not, but the Morgan Manufacturing people mover system that resides in Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle is actually a higher capacity system than the Sally ride vehicles. If Scooby does vacate the premises, I`d imagine that the core ride system will remain intact.

Yeah, you're right, the Morgan system does have a higher capacity than Sally because it's constantly moving. My bad. I just hope they'll redo the actual interactive portion of the ride; it's either the Fright Lights are broken and/or don't register hits from far away, or some of the targets and scenes are placed too far away from the car. I hate having to reach out of the car just to shoot a target that's only three feet in front of me, let alone attempt to shoot one 20 feet away.
