thejoker34
hey after going on hh it just occured to me, that ki removed most of the lighting from fof (now its just one light) when i went earlier this year, they had 2 or 3 more. do they put those up during the normal season? or is this a permanent thing? CedarPointer
Only one was on on Sunday. I wish they'd go all or nothing.
thejoker34
Only one was on on Sunday. I wish they'd go all or nothing. yeah i know. it sort of ruins the ride a little. i don't think there's any safety issues or law about it, so does anyone know why they do that? BoddaH1994
Are you talking about in the ride area itself?
CedarPointer
Yes, he is. They turned the colored lights off and only one white light is on.

CedarPointer
They wanted it to be "scarier"?
RingMaster
Or I'd assume they stole the colored lights to help with the atmospheric tones of the Haunt, whether they be for the individual mazes or the scare zones. I know a majority of the colored lights from Adventure Express and The Crypt are gone/turned off this season.

74Gibson
The darker the better. I would love to ride it with everything off!
VortexJunkie
I think fof is more fun when it's good and dark in there. The first time I rode it I remember being amazed, looking around in the dark to barely see that I was surrounded by a spaqhetti bowl mess of twisted steel tracks. Going through the first few inversions in the dark I couldn't even tell which way was up. It's just not as fun for me when I can clearly see where I'm going. Same thing with the final tunnel on BLSC. Last saturday they had the lights on in there and it was pretty lame. Rode it again on sunday and was happy to go through a pitch black tunnel again. Fun tip: ride a coaster with your eyes closed. It's an interesting experience and heightens your ability to feel all of the forces.. unless you've ridden it several times before and can anticipate every turn. PKIDelirium
People complained when those lights were added, now complaining when they're turned off?
BeastinNight
I was there on Sunday and I did not notice any missing lights From what I could tell all of the colored lights were on. Though it wouldn't surprise me if they were off Friday or Saturday during the Haunt because if you have ever been to CP during Halloweekends you would know that they take all the ride Lighting down to almost nothing to add to the atmosphere of the park Dragster goes dark, Power Tower only has one side barely lit, and Millie only has one support lit plus all the other rides lights are basically off. Since KI doesn't really have a lot of ride lighting (I wish it did because i LOVE coaster lit up at Night!!) it makes sense that they would take away from what little they have to add to the experience and fear! Beast79
When I worked on FOF we would turn all the lights off and ride it a few times, pitch black the only thing you can see is the LED's on the proxes.
CedarPointer
I really liked riding it with lights on for RWW, but I've never gotten to ride it with all of the lights off. The colored lights are a nice touch, however.
paperg
Has anyone ever ridden FOF with ALL lights on? Last year at HH, maybe the last couple nights KI was open. FOF had ALL lights on.... I thought that was cool! Hope they do that again this year... I do like riding it in the dark but I think its cool to see lit up at least 1 time of year.... CedarPointer
The RWW ERT had all lights on, I think.
74Gibson
They were on for RWW, even the tunnel. It is really cool to see it with the lights on...actually it's pretty amazing. After a few rides though, I was ready for the dark and thought I had them convinced for total darkness. I was on the skytram thing in WDW when the lights were on in Space Mountain and that was crazy! violakat03
I heard from a ride op last year that if you want a completely pitch black ride on FOF, go at the very end of a Haunt night, like around 12:45, and you might get your wish. I really enjoyed my lights on rides during RWW (been wanting one for YEARS), but I'm also hoping to get my first completely lights off ride some time this year! PhantomTheater
Lights on FoF is the most distracting ride ever, to much stuff to look at inside the bowl.

I really enjoyed my lights on rides during RWW (been wanting one for YEARS), but I'm also hoping to get my first completely lights off ride some time this year! Pitch black on FOF is the scariest experience EVER at the park. I think it's even scarier than riding Beast at night. With The Beast, on a clear night (or even on a cloudy night), you can barely make out the outlines of the forest around you, so you can still see at some point or another. Not so with FoF. Once you take off, you can't see A THING. And zipping around upside down at almost 60 mph in the spaghetti-bowl-style coaster it is with no way to see where you're going is horrific. thejoker34
ive done it pitch black once, and it was AMAZING!!!!!! thats why i hope they keep it so
DropZone99
Last year during Fall Freakout we had ERT on FoF and half the ERT he lights were all the way on, and the other half they were off. On of our rides we got the first half the ride lights off, seconds half lights on. And another time we got them to flicker the lights! How amazing it was! I doubt that will happen this FFO though. Johnnygolucky08
Kings Island could be trying to hide more stuff in there, maybe thats why some lighting is missing

violakat03
Son of Beast is in the FOF drum? I think they're hiding the Crypt's old program in there, along with it's extra seats.

They were along the end of the ride.
