I was looking on Kings Island's Wiki page and found this:

It was announced on October 23rd 2009 that Scooby Doo&The Haunted Castle will be transformed In To Charlie Brown & The Haunted House for 2010. This area is becoming Planet Snoopy for 2010

But what kind of made me sit and think were all the errors. I'm not sure what to think of this. If it was someone on here, than, wow. What are your thoughts on this?

Not true. I actually deleted it from the Wikipedia page earlier today. There have been (and likely won't be til late winter) any press releases about Planet Snoopy's names. More than likely, the first we'll hear about new names is either with the park map's release or with a website overhaul, such as what happened when the Paramount names became Cedar Fair (Tomb Raider --> Crypt, Top Gun --> Flight Deck, etc) back in January 2008.

No. I only deleted the sentence about the "announcement" that it was becoming Charlie Brown at the Haunted House. That's the only sentence I changed. I probably should've gone back and made the paragraph run more smoothly haha. But hey, it's Wikipedia. And how many people who aren't Kings Island fanatics are going to be looking up the Scooby Doo and Haunted Mansion page? Regardless, I think we can count that as our good deed for the day!

One thing this should show others. Wikipedia is never a reliable source as it can be edited, again and again, to change things so they are right...or not right. And at any time during that process, our reader can come in and read things that are right...or not right...or more likely, both.

Actually, I also fixed that and a lot of other name changes someone made about a week and a half ago. Someone is a trolling....

I agree. I just wanted to make sure it was false before doing anything. I hadn't been on here or been involved with Kings Island for awhile and I didn't quite know if it could possibly be true.

D'oh! I hope KI's Scooby-Doo and The Haunted Castle gets a Great Pumpkin retheme.

All I hope is that they still keep the shooting thing. That makes it real fun!

I hope it has decent enough theming that it does not need annoyingly loud guns to keep the ride entertaining.

Yeah I agree with the whole gun thing, I just don't like it, hope they take it out. But probably not.

I just wish they'd mute that PWOO PWOO PWOO PWOO PWOO sound. It drives me insane. I usually end up putting my hand over the back of the gun so I don't have to hear it.

it was pretty insanely loud, but not as bad as the loudspeaker for when people are standing up or touching props. that thing is beyond rediculously loud!!!

However, that's for guest safety. The PWOO PWOO PWOO was just annoying, especially when you're riding with someone who is very trigger happy.

Technically, holding down the trigger throughout the entire ride sends the laser out continuously. That's what I always did. Just hold the trigger down and swing the gun around wildly, you get quite a few targets hit that way!

i think the accuracy goes down when you do that though... i learned that if you shoot less you would end up with more hits.

I always liked it when they had to slow down for wheel chairs, you could bring up your points up quick while sitting there for 30 seconds to 1 minute!

With most of the scenery been stock items I can see them cutting cost by keeping it a haunted attraction but it would be nice if they just completely revamped it by making it themed after all the peanut cartoon specials like Christmas and Halloween for an example.

I'd be ok if they brought back an Enchanted Voyage type ride themed with different scenes from the many different Peanuts specials that have been created. They could even play the Linus and Lucy theme by the Vince Guaraldi Trio that has been associated with the Peanuts gang for decades now.

Thinking outside the box... Who's to say it has to be a dark ride?

Whatever they do, I hope they do it well. Even though SDatHC wasn't great, it's better than the only themed ride CF has built- Disaster Transport.

That's a good point Thrill Biscuit. That building is getting old, and thats a nice big area. I could see them wrecking it and building something else there.
