Planet Snoopy Ride Names Announced!

Featured Replies

The names are okay imho. I always guessed that Phantom Flyers would be re-themed into the Charlie Brown kite-in-a-tree thing. Linus' Launchers sounds more like a ride that launches people up and down, like the Plankton thing. I got it completely backwards. Oh, well. I wonder if "Peanuts Go 'Round" was ever in the hopper for name choices on "Character Carousel"?

I have an honest question- why hasn't there ever been a Marcie costume? Its not like its just a KI thing, there isn't a Marcie costume for any of the Cedar Fair parks to my knowledge. Its not like she

Why isn't there a Franklin themed ride? That's racist!!

No, really. I hope you're kidding. <_<

That looks much, much better than Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle... Most of the props in SCATHC are static. In this one, everything moves besides the walls and the ceiling. Not only this, but it has a much scarier and more interesting finale. SDATHC's ending is sort of boring, and is NOT scary.

I strongly disagree with you sir! Scooby is what made the ride fun...and Sally Darkrides wanted to DO much much more with the haunted castle BUT, Paramount said NO!

Scary it is...INDEED!

Paramount said no? I've always thought the ride could have been much more... Lets hope Cedar Fair doesn't execute this much restraint with Sally Corp's retheming! (I mean, what reason would Cedar Fair, or Paramount for that matter, have to exercise restraint?)

Looks like they added some more pictures to Planet Snoopy on the facebook page! Linus Launchers and race for your life Charlie brown...

I'm Guessing it will stay purple due to the sign being purple.

Wonder if they will put something else in that sprays people? I can stand there all day and watch people get sprayed. Always makes my day when someone thinks they got away with riding and not getting wet then "Wham" right in the face!

Looks like they are building a sign to me, but I could be wrong?

Wow. That paint job on Linus Launcher (the name totally makes sense now!) has to be a joke...

I wonder if RFYL is going to keep the peeing spitting coconuts in some fashion...

Maybe it could be a big bucket of water that dumps on you.

OH GOD NO. :o

There is a giant "wooden" barrel where the elephant used to be. Maybe a giant water geyser will shoot out of it.

Wondering if they took out the snakes, monkeys and such. I know the answer is probably 'yes', but those were so much fun and I'm hoping they were generic enough to stay....

Then again they could also be moving the peeing monkeys there!

What possible reason?

$$$

Something probably in far shorter supply this time around than last, even...

Maybe instead of the elephant, there'll be a Pigpen with water mist coming off of him...

Tb, overthinking.

Come on, guys. The elephant is what made the ride fun. It's a water ride. You're supposed to get wet. I really hope they put something in it's place, and by the look of the barrel, I think they are.

I agree-that ride was great til the commercialized it. Nice leisurely ride through the woods, and a splash, where generally you got wet at the end. I hated the elephant because you got completely drenched. No thanks.

There's an entire water park, a shoot the chutes type ride and a whitewater raft ride for those who want to get soaked. Families need rides where mommy and daddy don't have to walk around soaked the rest of the day after a nice float in a log.

I find "inescapable" water effects to be more annoying than anything.

Now, on a river rafting ride when the raft is spinning towards a waterfall, that's alright - it's fun and you lean and scream with joy and try to get away from it and get it to hit the other side of the raft (plus you're aware that you will get sickeningly drenched before you get on - it's an intrinsic part of that style of ride)...

But in instances like the CG video of Shoot the Rapids, passing under an inescapable waterfall, or the elephant on Wild Thornberrys?... What's the fun in that? If, once the ride actually begins, the waterfall shuts off just before you reach it and you just get a little bit dripped on, that's alright because it's refreshing. But to just go right through a curtain of water with no way to avoid it to the point where you're just freezing and dripping for the remainder of the day? There are plenty of rides that offer that sensation... When I ride a log flume, it's not what I want.

There's a difference between getting wet and getting drenched. If I wanted to get drenched at Kings Island, I'd ride Congo Falls or White Water Canyon. There should be alternative where you just get "misted" or "mildly wet," enough to cool off. That's what log flumes are good for, if you ask me...

A ride need not get you absolutely soaked to be fun. I think we know why they want something there to get guests wet:
