When do you want to receive your KICentral broadtexts?

Featured Replies

So it's 1:23am and I just finished the latest KICentral update, and I want to send out a broadtext, but I'm not sure when. I realize that most people probably wouldn't want to get a text from us at 3:00am with news, but I've always been in kind of a bind as to when to send them out.

Right now, I either try to avoid school hours, from 8:00am to 3:00pm and try not to send out the broadtexts after 9:00pm.

But hey, I do what you guys want.

So tell me, when's the best time to send them?

This poll should allow multiple options...there are people who do not want texts during business hours AND not in the middle of the night. Then, there are some who don't want the things at all! :)

I agree with Terpy on the multiple option poll. But I don't care when you send them out, my phone is constantly set to vibrate so you could send it in the middle of the night (Or technically morning since I work 3rd shift and sleep in the mornings) and it wouldn't bother me a bit. Plus it'd totally make my day to wake up to (good) news about KI :)

I'm an instant-gratification guy. I'm not one who likes to be the last to know anything. Bring on the red-eye bulletins, baby!!!

Like Justin, I keep my phone on vibrate for most of the day, like when I am in class or when I am at work so I can get the updates at any time no problem.

Whenever is fine with me. I leave my phone on silent when I sleep, and check it about a billion times throughout the day.

To me it is useless if you don't get it when you post the update. There could be 3 pages on the thread it refereces if you wait till the next day or wait till a certain time to send the text. I think there needs to be a disclamer on the signup page that states, "You will get texted as an update happens regardless of the time. If you do not want to be texted an any time please do not sign up." (Something to that effect.) Just my 2 cents!

True, but even if I added that now there'd be hundreds of members who had signed up for it and didn't necessarily agree to those terms.

i vote "not during school hours," mainly because my phone has the tendency to turn itself on and at my high school if you are caught with a phone on you, you get the phone confiscated for one week and you're suspended for a day.(and that's just first offense, second it gets worse.)

I personally don't care when I get them. If I'm too busy to read it when it arrives, I'll just look at it when I have time. The only time I ever turn my phone off completely is during church.

I agree. I typically have my phone set to pager mode, so that way if it does go off, you only hear it vibrating. Of course, I`ve missed some calls this way too, since I didn`t hear it vibrating.

And on the subject of cell phones at school, if you aren`t allowed to have them, then you shouldn`t be bringing them to school. Especially if your phone has a tendancy to turn on and off by itself.

As Oldiesmann said, if I get a text and am too busy to read it right then and there, I will check it when I have the free time to do so.

Ryan, when did you start sending out texts about broads??!

How about this: I won't send them after 9:00pm at night, but will schedule them for first thing in the morning. Maybe 9:00pm. Other than that, I'll send the info as it happens. Sound good?
