Kirk Sheppard Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I'm here and sitting on the bricks waiting for the gates to open. My agenda is largely to see and get pics of Hot Blooded and Ghouls Gone Wild but will update periodically throughout the night. This is my first Haunt ever. Quote
TylerRider Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Do you know for a fact GGW is there? Only for 2 nights? I am 99% sure it is not there. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Sounds fun, will be waiting for live updates. Thanks Kirk. Quote
Kirk Sheppard Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 Do you know for a fact GGW is there? Only for 2 nights? I am 99% sure it is not there. Yes it is confirmed for tonight. I do not know about tomorrow. Quote
KIfan73 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I was standing there a year ago tonight. Wow, what a surprise I got! Quote
Kirk Sheppard Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 In the park waiting for the 8 o'clock show of Hot Blooded... Have seen a few KiC regulars... Park doesn't seem too crowded but some of the mazes are already at 25 min waits. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 DJ'ing a birthday party, wish I could be there. Great night to be at the park. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 DJ'ing a birthday party, wish I could be there. Great night to be at the park. Your own, I trust? Oh, the irony.... Quote

muppetfan1999 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Hey Kirk, I think I saw you in the audience for Ghouls Gone Wild. Were you wearing a dark plaid shirt? Quote
KIfan1980 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Hope you had fun - decided to catch the 11pm GGW show tonight. Thought the show was very well done - fun and good singing - an enjoyable experience. Quote
Kirk Sheppard Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 Hey Kirk, I think I saw you in the audience for Ghouls Gone Wild. Were you wearing a dark plaid shirt? I was in the front table just a little left of center wearing a dark shirt... not sure if its plaid, maybe stripes? I'm home now and its laying in the laundry room so its hard to say. But I was certainly there! :-) What a great evening. I managed to hit three showings of Hot Blooded and two showings of Ghouls Gone Wild. I will have full reviews of them by the end of the weekend along with pictures from both shows posted to FansofKIEntertainment.com. I think I'll go back next Friday and try a couple of the mazes; but I'm a big scaredy cat so we'll see. The park did not seem very crowded to me tonight and I did not see any bad behavior short of the one idiot at Ho Blooded who talked through the whole show with his friend. I didn't want to cause a scene so I ignored it, but how rude can you be especially sitting in the front row! Quote
Erosarrow05 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I suppose, perhaps, you should keep in mind you are not at a Broadway production, rather that of a seasonal amusement park. Quote
Kirk Sheppard Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 I suppose, perhaps, you should keep in mind you are not at a Broadway production, rather that of a seasonal amusement park. Who and what are you responding to? Quote
Erosarrow05 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I was responding to how you were upset someone in the front row spoke during the show. While I don't condone people talking through performances, I would also keep in mind where I was, a seasonal amusement park. I'd assume after 3 showings in one night I'd assume you got your fill for the season... If you don't mind me asking, and forgive the choice of words.... whats the obsession with Kings Island Live E? First of all, I don't care if I'm at the Danbarry theater paying $1.50 on a Tuesday night or at Carnegie Hall in New York City, people should respect the performers and the other guests by not being disruptive. Secondly, I will go back and see it again before the season is over most definitely. Thirdly, not that I need to explain myself to you, but I am a fan of live entertainment of all sorts. I was at the Playhouse in the Park last weekend to see "High" starring Kathleen Turner. I have season tickets to the Aronoff. I will be attending CCM's production of "Evita" as well as Wright State's production of "Anything Goes." I am going to Dayton to see "Spring Awakening" in November and I will be attending several local high school productions this winter as well. It just so happens that Kings Island's productions are top notch and virtually free given how much value I get for my gold pass so I tend to go see them often. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I`m glad to see the water effect on Hot Blooded has returned yet again this season. One word of advice if you are going through Wolf Pack, its best to wait until it is fully dark to get the true experience. When I went through the first time, you could see ahead which ruined some of the surprises due to the daylight spilling in still. And yes, Flight Deck is still open, even with both Club Blood and Wolf Pack`s line starting just past the end of the bridge. There is a nice surprise in the woods if you ride The Beast. I won`t divulge what. But it was most unexpected. And there is a nice little memorial by The Beast`s exit. Quote
tycoonrebel7188 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I very much enjoyed the surprise in the woods at Beast. It was Awesome. I also liked the memorial items between the exit and entrance ramps. Quote
Creed Bratton Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I very much enjoyed the surprise in the woods at Beast. It was Awesome. I also liked the memorial items between the exit and entrance ramps. Which surprise are you talking about? I was very surprised to see fog throughout the ride as well as the figure before the 2nd life hill Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Remember that some here will be going to the park later this season and don't want to know the surprise...so if it is listed, one might consider using the spoiler function here... Quote

I mean, the speakers are quite loud sitting in the front already, so if I can hear you over them then you are obviously speaking too loudly. Right?? Quote
markr Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Also enjoyed Ghouls Gone Wild. Now, that's more like it, in my opinion, as to what a Holloween attraction should be-not blood and gore but good old fashioned witches, ghouls, and monsters with nice, light-hearted monster rock. I hope that in the future there will be more attractions like this for Haunt. ( A person can dream can't they? LOL.) Quote

I would be willing to bet the same reason the rest of us are obsessed with roller coasters! I think it is great we have a member that posts about KI E! Something a lot of us don't enjoy as much, but really should be included at KIC. Since after all this site is about KI! Quote

BavarianBeatle Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I didn't go to the shows, but I walked past both of them last night, and, from the "singing" (if it can be called that) that I heard, I can say without hestitation that listening to even a few seconds of that was the scariest experience of The Haunt. Quote
KIfan1980 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Beatle - as mentioned earlier, I sat through GGW and thought the singing was pretty good and the show was fun. Then again - I have very little ear for music. Kirk - thanks for sharing your love of Entertainment here I doubt I'd have gone to the show last night if not for your post. Quote

In my opinion, that sentiment cannot be echoed for Live-E Quote

Kirk Sheppard Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 And in my opinion the love shows at KI are great fun and filled with great talent. You realize that we are blessed to have students from CCM's and Wright States's exceptional musical theater programs in the casts of these shows. And like it or not, Hot Blooded and the other shows are quite a unique piece of entertainment. You won't find them anywhere else. I guess I am mostly puzzled by the level of passion you have about the fact that I enjoy the shows so much... Why do you care? Quote
