  • Here's a little contribution to the Waterworks construction pic. I don't know if this is a common pic, but its an artist rendering of the "coming soon to KI - Waterworks".

  • Photo 72 I recommend opening each photo in a different window and switching back and forth between the two years. I took these comparisons in 2008, and there just now finally being

Those FoF pics are great! I've never seen any construction pics of that ride. Absolutely amazing.

Beast plaza has definitely improved since the time that photo was taken. I just wish they would figure out something with Ye Olde Abandoned Drink Stand in The Beast queue. Even if they just took out the signage and made it look like a run-down country village, it would be a huge improvement to the theming of the queue.

^I wonder if they've done any work on the parking lot since those pics were taken?

Look at those cars in those pictures, truly a symbol of Americana at it's finest.

^My parents had an Oldsmobile like the one in the bottom right photo :)

So that was your father's Oldsmobile! :)

Terpy, trying to behave...

Yes sir it was :)

Paid a whole 100 bucks for it in the mid 80's.

I'm going to go ahead and vote that this thread is thread of year. This has been the most interesting topic to read and look at all the pictures and learn about Kings Island's amazing history. Thank you for posting all of these, you're a valuable/knowledgeable member among these here forums!

Isn't the first pic from today the same as Photo 96? At least there is more than just a repeat.

That's why I posted two, just in case I repeated one.

Thanks for the comment, "cedarAfairs" glad you like the topic.

Ahhh the poor trams. Miss riding those as a kid. They rest in peace out behind Son of Beast :(

^Of all of the pictures I have seen of the park hardly any of them "scream" spectacle...in my opinon, but this one does! You can just tell by the photo that it was a glorious day to have been there. :)

if you stretch your imagination, the ruffles on top of the tower makes it look like it has a smiling face; plus (if im not mistaken) that banner on the tower say's "come on get happy"

^ doesn't take any stretching for me. That's awesome. Thanks for pointing it out cuz I looked right over it. Very cool pic indeed.

That was the slogan for Kings Island's commercials in 1972-Fun is just a smile away so take a happy break today at Kings Island, come on get happy, Kings Island, come on get happy.....( Not sure if those are the exact words.)

I still wish I could have visited Kings Island back then. This makes me wish it even more. Such a nice picture.
