Browntggrr
My kids love it, and they loved Nick too. It's their opinion I listen to the most!
coaster_junky
i loved the nick the best so far not many parks have much in the way of Nickelodeon anymore funny thing is viacom still seems to be okay with their extremely high license fees. i knew without a doubt in my heart/mind that this change would be a successful one and i have no regrets with my initial thoughts. Dieseltech20
...not many parks have much in the way of Nickelodeon anymore Judging by the current lot of bad cartoons and Tween Tripe they churn out nowadays that isn't exactly a bad thing. Nick was great in the 90's and early 00's but nowadays they are happy copying the Disney channel.

I still love Spongebob, but it only comes on for about two hours a day after noon. Everything else is that iCarly garbage. They need to start a new classic channel, kind of like what Cartoon Network did by creating Boomerang. It would be comical to see a park themed with the new shows. markr
Personally, the kid's area just doesn't seem the same without the Hanna Barbera characters since that was what dominated the park in the early days. Also, Hanna Barbera is what I was raised on. However, I did enjoy the Peanuts shows such as Charlie Brown at Grandma's Farm ( or whatever the name of that show was) and Snoopy on Ice. And that light show was absolutely spectacular. ( Not quite as spectacular as the one at CP but still spectacular. )Most importantly, the kids seemed to love the Peanuts characters from my observation and that is what is most important. Therefore, I would consider Peanuts a great success.
Pillsberry123
I was raised on a little bit of everything, so I don't really care what characters are at the park. I'll admit that Scooby-Doo was probably the star attraction of the kids area, but I am not opposed to Peanuts either. I'm all for keeping with tradition, but Snoopy is a good park mascot, too. As for the area, it pretty much comes off as the same area with new paint. Everything looks great, the kids seem to enjoy it, and it hasn't lost its credibility as the best kids area. It's an all around win in my opinion. Great transition over from Nick to Peanuts.
ParkMake
I don't mind it, but it made me stop enjoying Peanuts. I'm glad they removed the Nick theming since either it would be outdated and lame or crappy and lame, depending on which shows they left. I personally, though, would have gotten the rights to Scooby-Doo since to me at least everyone knows Scooby-Doo, everyone loves Scooby-Doo, and he's more well known than that name stealing beagle. The great dane should live in Kings Island! Plus he's been at Kings Island for its entire life. At least you can still see him in the pass processing center. Yeah but, I;d rather have a revamped dark ride. Just a better use of the money for me personally.. and I am a Scooby fan. I love Planet Snoopy. As for it's relevance to today's youth, my 2 1/2 yr old is now a huge Snoopy fan and calls him by name anytime she sees him.

Somehow KI ( although I still love KI. ) without Scooby Doo seems like Disney without MIckey Mouse.
faeriewench
They need to start a new classic channel, kind of like what Cartoon Network did by creating Boomerang. They already did. I say "did" because its been a few years since I watched it (Nicktoons network), so I don't know if they already replaced everything. They had Angry Beavers, AHh Real Monsters, Hey Arnold, Rocket Power, Doug, Ren & Stimpy and my favorite Rockos Modern Life.

I think I just remember it from maybe a year and a half to two years ago? They need to do it again if they removed it.
lebeau
I was very disappointed when I heard about the change. My little girl loves the Nick characters. (Or she did. She's kind of moved on.) But when we saw it, we immediately loved Planet Snoopy. And my daughter has grown to appreciate the Peanuts which is an added benefit. IndyGuy4KI
I was never unhappy with the change in the first place. I was very excited to the see the area getting some attention. I said many times in the past that my child will get on all the rides and have a blast no matter the name of the ride, or what decal is pasted on it. You still get the same ride experience. As soon as they climb aboard and the ride cycle starts they are just as happy as any other child when it was HB, Nick, or now PS. I am pretty sure my child was more excited about PS than Nick, for he has several Snoopy movies and was not exposed to the Nick garbage as much at that point. Unfortunately, now it's merely reverted to being a Nick 2 kind of like ESPN 2 and MTV 2. All the shows that are now on that channel are cartoons that failed on the main Nick channel (Mighty B, Danny Phantom, El Tigre, etc.), and the older shows that used to frequent said channel either very rarely play or are on at the absolute worst times of the day/night (4 or 5 in the morning). faeriewench
^That's sad, what is also sad I don't even know what Mighty B and El Tigre are. Guess I shouldn't be surprised tho.
