kingsrattler Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 The beauty of photography... I could take a picture of something three different times.. and the colors will probably not match up in any of them... for many factors I'm sure Gordan Bombay could explain better than I as I am only an amateur photographer Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 The beauty of photography... I could take a picture of something three different times.. and the colors will probably not match up in any of them... for many factors I'm sure Gordan Bombay could explain better than I as I am only an amateur photographer Ha Ha as much as I hate to admit it, I nearly failed a color theory class. I never understood mixing and balancing colors and when I color balance night shots it takes me hours so I'm no expert on color. However, you are right, the color of that image could be determined by anything from the lens to the mirror to the film used. Not to mention it's pretty gray out. Every time I've seen it I actually thought it was red and black. Quote
ohiocolts Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Does anyone know what year this photo was taken? Anyone on here?! Oh and nice pictures! Keep them coming! Quote

CoastersRZ Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Again, excellent photos Paul. I really love the old Kings Island logo. Quote
jdawg1998 Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I love that clock. The clock now is...okay. Quote

Ffej Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Awesome sketch. Speaking of opening day, did anyone get the email from Kings Island "We're Opening Earlier this Season." My heart skipped a beat in excitement, thinking they perhaps moved opening day up, especially when it started discussing the abnormally nice weather. But, it was just an email announcing the same April 28th opening. Quote

standbyme Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 I agree, nice sketch. Do you think it was sold in one of the shops along International Street back in the day? Quote
Oldiesmann Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Such a shame that landscaping doesn't get as much attention now as it used to. Hopefully that will change this season though. Quote
RD Reynolds Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Photo #83 - This is a sketch I have hanging on my wall actually. Really wish they'd sell stuff like this. They could just set up an online store and sell them as they get orders for them. Wouldn't take much (I do this for a living)... 1 Quote
jdawg1998 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 With the great weather I think landscaping will be a lot better than previous years. With a lot more time to landscape they might add more. Quote

Oldiesmann Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 More great landscaping, though I have to question the fashion sense of the guy in the photo. 1 Quote

KIfan73 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 One of the best ever!! That's a view of IS I've never seen... Quote
Delirium13 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Agreed, that is one of my favorite Kings Island photos I have ever seen, really gives a feel for what International Street was like back then, it looks amazing! Quote
standbyme Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Unlike KIfan73 this is a view I probably have seen (in person)...but since I don't remember it, I end up just like KIfan73! Thanks for the photos! Quote
KIfan73 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 ...same here, was there in person, just don't remember it! Quote
KI-ORIG-EMP Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Photo #86 Great pictures of Kings Island's past! Just one question: As I was first hired in 1972 as a "litter getter" or sweeps as they are called now, I wore an all white uniform. We wore white pants, white shirts and a white golf cap, with black hush puppy shoes. Do you have any pictures of any of us sweeping up the litter? Inside the operations building are pictures of Coney Island and Kings Island from the last day of Coney to Kings Island opening. Lots of pictures of the employees in full uniform. Mike Quote
