Oldschool75
This is just crazy! What happens if yo don't make the loop? You would be trapped. http://digg.com/newsbar/topnews/behold_the_water_slide_so_dangerous_it_was_shut_down_immediately
countess_of_tuscany
Makes me uncomfortable just thinking about riding that! (This coming from someone who is already freaked out by enclosed waterslides of any kind...) Whoa!
LordSkippy
Ah, good old Action Park. Gotta love it.
westcoaster
Great article like in the article they kept it there as a symbol even when the ride was closed, sounds like SOB, SOB sitting there could be a symbol, of hope, good to come, and failures are challenges that are fixed, learned and taken care of in life. Okay enough bologna for today: Thanks for the article:
LongliveKingsCobra
They have actual ones, that are real and not as dangerous...
Dvo
Yeah, there's a lot more to action park than just that slide. But that's one of the crazier things they did, no doubt.
TombRaiderFTW
I think I remember reading once that that slide, when tested with a dummy, proceeded to disassemble said dummy by ripping some of the limbs off. Unlike Thorpe Park, I don't think they ever publicized it as being a reason to ride.
markr
I'm absolutely speechless.
Diamondbacker
I remember reading about Action Park one time. The teenage employees, most about the same age as myself, seemed not to care at all about the patrons, from what I read. They would find places to get drunk/high, make the go-karts go faster, and would watch people go down the water slides, hoping to see a bad injury or topless women. Just think how many lawsuits a company would get today for running a park as poorly as these kids did.
jlopez
that slide looks painful .

Jasper
Looking up Action Park is worth the time it takes to Google it, nice article and if you search you can find some pretty interesting things around the web.
TOPGUN1993
I love Gemini and ride it every time I go. I know I'm going to get crap for this one, butGemini. On my first ride, the sudden helix at the end made me feel like my shoulder had been dislocated. On my second ride, again on the helix, my lower neck made a nasty snap noise followed by stinging pain that caused me to have a stiff neck for 2 days afterward. http://www.KICentral...tr/#entry304620 http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/14612-what-is-the-worst-ride-you-have-ever-ridden/#entry238091

PhantomTheater
Her opinion of the Gemini are alowed to change, especialy since the said quotes have been posted. Gemini's Helix trims are now stronger and on all the time (even if MCBR is open) thus taming the helix.

I decided to give Gemini another chance because I was sick of sitting out while my friends rode it. I ended up mentally kicking myself because I had missed out on such a fun ride so many times and now it's a must-ride whenever I visit. So yes, my opinion has changed. Can we let it go now? Thanks. The Interpreter
Consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds. Change is good. But, I still am not gonna ride Ninja again anytime soon.
