What do you want at Kings Island in 2013?

Hello, I am new to KICentral and this is my first post. Please, no bad comments.

So, on topic. What do you want for Kings Island next year? A Ride, a roller coaster, or anything else an amusement park should have? You decide in the poll above.

I would want a new roller coaster, possibly a giga-coaster.

Other, please! I would love love LOVE to see an increase in landscaping, music specific to each area (though with Oktoberfest, we might need some African music in there. Can't leave out another continent... <_<), refurbish and MAINTAIN Adventure Express theming, little more with Flight of Fear, et cetera. Let's focus on the broken things in the park, and fix and maintain them.

I voted a roller coaster because in an ideal world, that's what I want, which is what the poll is asking. However, if that were the case (especially if it were to be a big one) we probably would have seen signs of construction already. However, I also agree with Fire-Beast-OF FEAR in that I'll be happy with whatever we get. TheCrypt also has good ideas.

I feel KI or Cf management in general is focusing more on atmosphere and over-all guest experience and I want that to continue more than I want a new ride.

That said, I would love a Screamin Swing like Sky Hawk. The best thing they could do for me personally would be a Giga similar to i305 or a multi launch terrain hugger (like Maverick) going in and out of ravines.

EDIT: Forgot to welcome RolerCoasterHunter. Hope you enjoy it here!

which led to another want for KI... continual growth of this site, with quality content and friendly dialogue... whether we agree on the topic or not! There are many here I have come to respect, appreciate and enjoy.

Lets start with the thing that can't be found on a park map 2010 or newer, has no ride name, located in Action Zone, and has a Halloween Haunt walk though in it's station. Still can't guess it, here is a hint: "Fire you SOB!"

Yeah. 'Cause we always need to bring Son of Beast in to the conversation.

I'd like to see an Action Zone revamp, which includes having the park finally make a decision about Son of Beast. Three of the rides in AZ will be celebrating major anniversaries in 2013 - Congo Falls (25 years), Flight Deck (20 years) and Delirium (10 years), so it's time to give that area some much-needed attention.

They could probably fit a good wild mouse coaster in where Thunder Alley is now, but taking out a pay-to-play attraction for one that's free just doesn't seem like something the park would do, no matter how little they're making from it.

^They didn't really do anything for Drope Zone / Drop Tower or Face/Off / Invertigo when they celebrated their 10th birthday.

I realize that, but with a different person in charge of things now, the past doesn't necessarily indicate what will happen in the future.

I think most of us were madly in love with the 2011 season, where a mid-priced addition or two allowed room for small improvements, detail, landscaping, etc. We saw music back on many rides, a virtual head-to-toe refurbishment on Backlot Stunt Coaster, new effects on Flight of Fear, a noteworthy effort made on The Crypt, repainting Flight Deck... That did not go unnoticed, and I think those years should be 4:1 against large coaster additions that suck up the budget. That could also be bundled with the suggestions above for area-appropriate music, etc. I think Kings Island is almost afraid of being too upscale, afraid that having and marketing themed areas with appropriate food, music, shows and shopping might alienate the thrill-seeking crowd. Such a shame, because it can do marvelous things to market a park that way...

As for what I'd like to see ride-wise, a clone of Curse of DarKastle or Verbolten in Oktoberfest would restore the German theme and convince me to renew my pass...
