I always thought it would be cool to bring back some of that old appeal that the park used to have. Do you that KI should make a new campsite? Before Action Zone the area was known as Adventure Village and, at one point, featured a monorail ride with live animals that resided in the area that is now Son of Beast/Adventure Express/Flight of Fear. TombRaiderFTW Posted July 23, 2012 Share Posted July 23, 2012 If you look on Google Earth, you can actually see what's left of a few old gravel roads from the campgrounds. Like several people said, it's behind Great Wolf Lodge and beside the small gray/tan building (whose name escapes me at the moment... It's a Kings Island building. Check it out here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25069-kings-island-70s-campground-brochure/ One of the highlights: kicamping1b.jpg Paramount said that they were interested in building a new camp ground and built a "modern" one at Carowinds in 2005(?) I believe that had wi-fi hookup and other modern amenities. Paramount's plans, if they had even gone beyond the discussion stage, were probably scrapped when the company changed hands not soon after.
