TheBEASTunchained Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 We'll Its been a while since I've posted a new question because, we'll..... The new members have been making quite a few new ones . But anyway...... Do you like the route that the train takes at Kings Island? Do you wish it was different? If Kings Island took up all the train tracks and put new ones, Where would you rather that the train took you? Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Please no. If the tracks are ever removed at this point, they may end up as salvage. CBS almost did that. See Kings Dominion. Or the Carowinds monorail. Say what you want about Dick Kinzel, and Lord knows I have, but the man loved trains. Here's hoping Matt Ouimet does, too. 5 Quote
TheCrypt Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'd like for it to not go to the waterpark. Removing the SC station would do, no need for new tracks/ layout! Quote
KIfan1980 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Don't even suggest making changes to the RR layout. While I might prefer a more interesting atmosphere to accompany the train, I also recognize that we have something special and would hate to lose it. 2 Quote
CoasterOhio Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Yea don't I like the train they change anything they'll end up salvaging it for a new ride or something like that. Quote
TheCrypt Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 ^I'm confused so as to what you mean. You like the train or you do not? 1 Quote
BB1 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 One simple answer for one simple question, no keep as is. Quote
KIfan4life Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 The train is classic and fun in its own way. Keep it as is. 1 Quote
GunnerMoose Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I wouldn't mind if they made a station on the other side of the park! That way it increase ridership and allows people a break of walking! Quote
Tanna Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I do love the train. I also wish it also had another station besides SC. I think I've got the mental image of Lesourdesville's Tombstone Territory in my brain, where you took the train or the steamboat to another part of the park. 1 Quote
fanofFirehawk Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I think brand train would be nice, but they should keep the old train too. If they were to build a new train I think it shoul go all around the park with multiple stations throughout the park so it could be used to transport people from side of the park to another. Quote
Original Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I rode CP's railroad yesterday and the skeletons and props were much more entertaining. Onne building looked like it was actually was on fire. It was really neat, I hope they do that. 2 Quote
SOB_TOM Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 After working on the train crew for a year, I can say that if it wasn't for the water park stop that it makes, ridership would be so far down, it would not be feasible to keep the train in operation. While, as a worker, I wasn't thrilled about working the water park stop (hot, little to no shade, quite honestly some of the most drunk and idiotic guests I've ever had the honor of working around,) the fact remains that the average guest is not interested in just riding around the train. My proof? Ride the train before the water park opens in the morning, and in between 9-10 at night. Most of the time, we ended up just sitting on the train for an hour waiting for people to show up to ride. 5 Quote
homestar92 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I love the train. I like to sit in the very back and sometimes you'll get a really friendly ride op back there, and you can have great conversations. I really like riding it at night, and I've heard that the Haunt that involves the train isn't bad either. Quote

I remember, before I transfored to Train, I got sent and stood at BB station for 4 hours strait. I hated that station. Also, I've been there when we were sitting around at 8 pm and we didn't have a single rider for the rest of the night.. on a midnight close. Tom, you're not working there this year are you? Quote
MDMC01 Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I enjoy riding the train and feel like it's a break from all the action. Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 They should bring back Dan Patrick and let him run around. 1 Quote
SonofBaconator Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Would both trains be capable of going any farther than they already do? By the train shed in the back and front, I know there's a grade that both trains struggle to get up. Quote
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Put some more theming around fort Kinzeil and add other little props thoughout. Civil war fight maybe by fort kinzeil? Quote
TheCrypt Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 The only Fort Kinzel at Kings Island is in X-Base. 2 Quote

By the train shed in the back and front, I know there's a grade that both trains struggle to get up. Those locomotives are quite capable of going to Sandusky, provided there are tracks, fuel and water stations and maintenance providers between Losantiville and there. Or, heaven forfend, even if there aren't. Quote

GunnerMoose Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Clearly, you don't understand what on the other side of the park means! 😋Sorry for the double post, fat fingers on an iPhone! Quote
