BB1
Well, the season only has three operating days left, making the 2012-2013 off season come quickly, it feels like the opening day was just last week! Soon visions of riding our favorite rides like Diamondback, The Beast, and others will come into our dreams, or of being in one of Kings Island's two wavepools (or of a past waterpark that we know BB1 loves, and dreams about ). Which makes many, including KIC, wonder, what may be redone or refurbished this off season? I believe the big bundle of sticks will be taken down (I knew someone would say that), and or a refurbishment of the Oktoberfest or Action Zone area(s). I hope everyone has a fun, and safe off season. Happy nastalgia!
DiamondBack27
I really hope they can get a new ride for 2014 (unlikely), or they can redo Action Zone and possibly get SOB tore down!
gad198
IMO, they still need restrooms somewhere in or near the X-Base area. If they did nothing else but this in the offseason I'd be happy.

I would certainly hope that would be addressed with "park expansion". Certainly a glaring omission.
Mr. Christopher
They should revive that one clock in Oktoberfest.

Who says a new ride for 2014 would be unlikely? I think it would be very likely.
stashua123
ya^^ they just wouldnt tear down SOB if they didnt have any plans for that area!
DiamondBack27
I don't know at this piont since there not even done with SOB. But your right is is possible. But I was thinking more of 2015 or 2016.But Cedar Fair is good for planning ahead They planned DB a year before evn purchasing KI! So maybe it's likely,But I don't know
DiamondBack27
Yea, now that I think about it It would be smart. Because I highly doubt, that KI would tear down a huge part of the park for extra stores, food, etc. So I am going to now agree it's likely that in 2014 or 2015 there will be a new coaster in that area!
Diamondbacker
This is for all Cedar Fair: Try to figure out ALL of the problems with the WindSeekers, and make the necessary adjustments, no matter how long it takes. I really like WS, and I hope they can find a permanent solution to the ride.

Tanna
With the changes that Ouimet has made, I'll be honest and say that I'm a little excited to see what changes, if any, are coming to the park. The words "Family friendly" keep coming back to me. I'd like to see more variance in ride experiences in the future, not just big monstrous thrill rides. I'd like to see the park become more than just a drop off point for teens. Small changes he's made so far has had a big influence on the atmosphere of the park. I'm really curious over what will happen off season.

The Interpreter
Nor can their manufacturers at typical Ohio winter temperatures. Which means notgonnahappen.com.
KI-ORIG-EMP
Only Frosty the Snowman and his winter friends would be brave enough to ride a roller coaster in the freezing cold! This is of course if the ride manufacturers would permit it.
The Interpreter
I have ridden Beast in the snow... But that was many years ago.
DiamondBack27
Whatever...Lol @ the interpreter I was told it was planned secretly for 2 years... And I know it was still owned by Paroumount's in 2006 (oops, I guess that is two years Lol!)
The Interpreter
Just because you were told something doesn't make it so. Perhaps your teller had been told the coaster had been pitched to Paramount in the past...
DiamondBack27
No, I knew that Cedar Fair is the company who planned it, I was just told that CF planned a lot before they even bought out Paroumount. So I thought DB was one of those things.

The Interpreter
Well, I've ridden The Georgia Cyclone at night during a sleet storm. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! (And it was STILL more fun than Ninja!).

OhioChris
Sometimes I read these forums and just have to shake my head in disbelief, lol. Anyway, as to this particular discussion's topic: I imagine minor improvements park-wide. Obviously SOB will be long-gone. Will they immediately do something with the land? I don't know. IF they do, you can be certain they started the planning of it prior to any announcements regarding the removal of SOB. I could imagine that land would be developed over the next year and half and we could see something new (maybe even new area?) in 2014. This is just speculation, while trying to be realistic. One thing is for certain, we will know for sure only when the park announces it.
lopan
Winter Fest with all roller coasters open. I would freeze. I couldn't even imagine. If this winter is anything like the last one.... warm hehe :-) Anyways they could easily have something there for 2014 its only been a couple months and sob is roughly half gone already i would think they would have plenty of time to finish removal before next season and ready the land during the season and build something late season/off season 2013-14 heck they did DB that way
stashua123
Or maybe itll turn into a Diamondback where the ride is alrerady cleared and you see some track peices. oh wait..
Browntggrr
Winter Fest with all roller coasters open. That would be such minimal fun, it is hard to express in words.-Brown, who has been on numerous coasters in the cold & rain and has no problem with not doing it again.
