Sounds like a great addition to me. Looks like the Ouimet era is finally upon us.

I'm crossing my fingers that a set of flying scooters could come our way, too. I've mentioned before how I'd love to see even the Larson model at KI. They aren't the same as our old Flying Eagles, but they're still very fun in their own respect. They could place them somewhere along the path between BLSC and the Eiffel Tower (though obviously not in a way that would require the floral clock to be removed.)

Has anyone heard if the coaster is the standard Mack wild mouse layout?

I would so much rather see this, but if KI ever gets a standard Wild Mouse, that'll be okay too. Just not quite as fun, IMO.

How about we get our Flying Scooters back, and Carowinds gets a Larson? Ahh wishful thinking, but it's probably easier for Corporate to give us a Larson (or an equivalent) and be done with it.

Overall, a solid addition for Knott's. It's good to see their Scrambler making a comeback, and the coaster shouldn't hurt either.

Considering that Knott's already has Sierra Sidewinder, it would be strange to get a Mauer Sohne spinner too.

People who have been to Knott's will probably agree that it was the most obviously-Cedar-Fair portion of the park. It's very jostling. Entering it from the incredible Ghost Town, you're immediately bombarded by sea-foam-painted concrete buildings, that "Attitudes" shop with the awful barbed wire, ]a Johnny Rockets... It's just 100% unrelated to the original sections of the park.

It will be nice to see it get a little sprucing up. It could take a lesson from California Adventure's pier area, too, shedding the awkward 1980's thrill park theme for a turn-of-the-century Victorian-romantic California pier. This looks like a good step in that direction.

I went to Knott's in 2010 and I was pretty disappointed with the park. It was right after the Xcelerator incident and in March so a lot of rides were closed. That'll be a nice addition to the park though.

They've made great strides in more recent years, I think, but it tries to straddle a middle ground between Disneyland's parks and Six Flags Magic Mountain. The result is that it doesn't feel quite complete.

Now, Calico Mine Ride? I'd buy a day's admission just to ride that.

This is a great start for Knotts, and looks great, however though they should have also added a dark ride. Looking at sky cabin Cedar Point screwed up removing theirs my opinion only..

Some how, I thought that Coast Rider would go to Knott's, it seemed fitting. Although, I would send the eagles to Kings Island, it is a ride that many would like.

Coast Rider is a play on the park's Ghost Rider... Which, by the way, needs some serious TLC if nothing's improved since my ride in July.

Its not all about the thrills, its chills, its families, dark rides, a mix. Sure I love coasters but we are seeing the new Guy in charge finally!

And for that I am very thankful. Dick Kinzel was great for Cedar Fair for a very long time. But, he stayed long past when he should have retired. Thank goodness for Q and Mr. Raynor.

I'd be surprised if animation was released for a set of scooters, a scrambler, and a wild mouse.

From knotts.com: "a harrowing journey down the 1,339 feet of track" and says 52 feet high.

rcdb.com lists KD Ricochet, Fly, and all the Legoland versions with a length of 1312' 4", and considers it the "Wild Mouse (large park)" version, and these all have a height listed at 51' 10".

It looks to me like it will be very similar, but with perhaps a longer station unloading area, or 27 feet longer due to a slightly different dimension on a different shaped footprint?

It changes. Like you said, Gatekeeper was filed the day of but it's not always like that. Maverick was trademarked way before the announcement but Top Thrill Dragster was trademarked three months after it was announced.
