markr
With three of the Bradys returning to KI on 5/19, I thought it would be fun to have the following poll. Who do you think is the cooler mom, Carol Brady or Shirley Partridge?
jdawg1998
Speaking of this, why is the Kings Island Partridge Family episode not nearly as popular as The Brady Bunch?
DBInternational
Because the Brady Bunch was wayyyyy more popular than the Partridge Family back when.
Browntggrr
Mrs. Brady by far. Any mom that can support oil that much will certainly win an oil bikini wrestling match! YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!
markr
Love both Mrs. Brady and Mrs. Partridge but have to give the edge to Mrs. Partridge since she played in a band with her kids. Kind of feeling bad about setting up this poll as not sure any mom can compete on the coolmeter against a mom who plays in a band. At any rate if we were to have a cool mom contest among all the TV moms I would definately give Mrs. Brady first runner up prize.
Hank
I always liked Shirley Jones because of her roles in Oklahoma, Carousel, and The Music Man. As for who's the cooler mom - they're both such plastic characters that if either of them ever got hot, they'd melt.
The Interpreter
I thought they were both hot. Then again, I was an odd kid.

Oldiesmann
I don't know that I've ever seen The Partridge Family, though I'm a big fan of the group that the show was based on (The Cowsills).
Jr for Birdy
I thought they were both hot. Then again, I was an odd kid. Nothing odd about that......unless I was odd too?
markr
The Partridge Family episode is also on youtube and David Cassidy demonstrated what a great comic actor he was in this episode-love the scene where he looks like he is going to get sick on the Carousel. I watched both The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family when they were both a part of the Friday night line-up and I remember both shows being very popular. I think the Brady Bunch for some reason has simply had more exposure in syndicaton than The Partridge Family which may be why The Brady Bunch seems to be more popular among those who weren't born when both shows were in prime time. PS Looks like Mrs. P has gained a few votes.

XGatorHead 8904
Tough choice, but I had to go with Mrs. Brady. Mrs. Partridge was close because she played in the band, but I watched the Bradys way more than I did th Partridges. And on that note, it's only a few more days until I have my annual night-before-opening-day Partridges/Bradys at KI double feature!

Oldiesmann
Quick question regarding that last video. What was that large orange/blue "bubble" building?
markr
Laurie looked pretty mad when she was riding the antique cars with Keith-it was obvious that she wanted to go on The Racer with the rest of the family.
rotag
Quick question regarding that last video. What was that large orange/blue "bubble" building? im not 100% sure, but i believe it was for a show, like a temporary outdoor ampitheater...
The Interpreter
Indeed. You sat in the floor (most people reclined), and watched films projected on the ceiling. It was quite the high tech for the day. The building was inflatable, and air supported at least in part. I believe a snow did it in.

Thrill_Biscuit
I liked the Brady Bunch (and therefore prefer Carol) because that show featured a "complete" family who had a firm household (albeit a physically impossible house), complete with a friendly, live-in housekeeper. Though my own family was a mess of divorce, neglect and abuse, I could relate to the Bradys because that's what I believed life should be like. The partridges were travelling musicians who drove a weird bus and pretended to play instruments with such fakeness that it made me shudder... at four! So, yeah, Carol Brady, pretty much.
