May 15, 201313 yr Yeah, "WTF?" you ask? In the past hour and a half, two different anonymous users have changed the Backlot Stunt Coaster article on Wikipedia to say that the Kings Island version is SBNO. I have undone both edits as no source was provided by either user. Does anybody know if BLSC was down today, and if so, for how long? I'm thinking these users may have seen it down temporarily today and assumed that it was down long-term. I wasn't there today, so any information about this that you can provide me with will help me fight these edits. Thanks. EDIT: Removed "BLSC" from the title to use this thread for general discussion of edits on Wikipedia. Edited June 30, 201313 yr by jcgoble3
May 15, 201313 yr I don't know about what you are asking, but it says 'is a steel launched roller coaster'... should it instead be 'launched steel roller coaster'? (The way it is now reads to me like steel is the type of launch)
May 15, 201313 yr Author I'm referring to these two edits: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Backlot_Stunt_Coaster&diff=555151395&oldid=548639219 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Backlot_Stunt_Coaster&diff=555158030&oldid=555154366 Click "Next edit" on each one and you'll see that I "reverted" (undid) both edits. All I'm trying to do here is find out if BLSC was down at all today and if so, for how long, so I can better prevent further edits like this.
May 15, 201313 yr I hope that's the park's way of informing us the Flying Eagles are making their return.
May 15, 201313 yr I know it was down Monday night when we got there at 5:50. Wasn't anybody working on it or anything from what I saw, No ride-ops around or anything, just closed.
May 15, 201313 yr I've heard from a local friend that it was listed on the scrolling signs out front as closed for today. Can't vouch for any other day though.
May 15, 201313 yr Author Interesting. Thanks. I'm going to bed right now, but I'll see what happens with BLSC when I'm at the park tomorrow.
May 15, 201313 yr Its been closed since Sunday. Thats all I can say. I wouldn't look to hard into it.
May 15, 201313 yr Well when I was there 2 weeks ago BLSC broke down 3 times! I only got to ride it once because it broke down whenever I was there. Maybe they're trying to fix it. Idk why its down.
May 15, 201313 yr The ride's ugliness finally caught up with it. No, just kidding, it's really sinking. Alright, enough foolin', it's [giant animated foot stomps Tb] ...it's my wife's favorite ride; I hope it's back up and running soon.
May 15, 201313 yr Dippin' dots man told me they were finally installing the stair scene effect thru the tunnel.
May 15, 201313 yr Dippin Dots man siad they were putting the antique cars on the track to run as the new trains.
May 15, 201313 yr The Dippin' Dots guy has been hard at work these past couple of days! Sounds like Backlot is having a rough year.
May 15, 201313 yr It's an inverted diverson caused by an influx of power brought on by the higgs boson.
May 16, 201313 yr It's a coaster. They go up and down and sometimes stop. And sometimes have downtown. Or is that just HUSS rides?
May 16, 201313 yr Whose? Oh, who's on first. I don't know about breaks.... Terp, on sound footing....
May 16, 201313 yr Author I rode it around 1:15 today. Later in the afternoon, I heard a random guest say that it had a rollback earlier; I can't verify that claim, so take it with a grain of salt. EDIT: The previous edits to the Wikipedia article were well-meaning but just misguided. This is either a drastic overreaction or simply pure vandalism, and it took nearly an hour for someone to fix it. This is why you should not trust Wikipedia for information without verifying the sources and the edit history.
May 16, 201313 yr Wikipedia I don't ever trust anything I read on it, but I do enjoy reading it from time to time!
May 16, 201313 yr you know, to be truthful, wikipedia does have some helpful descriptions to medical terminology. It helped me through my masters. It would simplify things I was reading about or have color photos/videos.
May 16, 201313 yr Depending on what you're reading, often Wikipedia is fairly accurate on things. You have to keep in mind that it may not be, but usually the ones that know what they are talking about are kind enough to fix the mistakes.
May 16, 201313 yr by descriptions of medical, I mean location and description and function of muscles ligaments etc...
May 17, 201313 yr I rode Backlot at around 10:15 AM this morning. Definitely NOT SBNO. Or I'm just really, really special and they opened it just for me. But it's probably the former.
