June 2, 201313 yr It may have been built 6 years ago, but it's constantly going through changes and some (not a whole lot) of testing.Which will open first? Flying Turns, Kentucky Kingdom, or Voyage with Timberliners?
June 2, 201313 yr Biggest bust of all time? and has been built for six years..... If you want to talk about that we should take a trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg....I can show you a space that was once occupied by a roller coaster for 6 years... It was called Drachen Fire...
June 2, 201313 yr Author Biggest bust of all time? and has been built for six years..... If you want to talk about that we should take a trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg....I can show you a space that was once occupied by a roller coaster for 6 years... It was called Drachen Fire... Drachen fire is considered a success vs flying turns cause it actually opened.
June 2, 201313 yr But can Drachen Fire really be considered a success given its short lived life at Busch Gardens Williamsburg?
June 2, 201313 yr Biggest bust of all time? On a KI fan site? Has FT reached $50+ million yet & been dismantled? Then & only then it can be discussed. Until then, only one ride easily has the identity of "biggest bust".
June 2, 201313 yr But at least some guests got to enjoy SoB.And some got to enjoy a free trip to the hospital too.
June 2, 201313 yr Author SOB was the park's signature ride for at least 5 years and had the longest lines. Everyone raved about it but when intamin & b&m hypers became relevent it made people hate a hyper woodie even more.
June 2, 201313 yr Popularity is not proven through long lines. True "signature" rides last much longer than 5 years aside from the fact SoB's last rides were in 2009 after initially opening in 2000.
June 2, 201313 yr But at least some guests got to enjoy SoB.My favorite coaster:)That explains a lot.

June 2, 201313 yr Author Tough to troll for a sob topic when I never brought it up. I started topic cause I remembered it being built and read online it still wasn't open.

June 4, 201313 yr How about just welcome a new thread. There is no need to be intentionally mean about it.
June 28, 201313 yr Flying Turns tested today!http://www.allamericanthrills.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=765&p=6422#p6422
June 28, 201313 yr Not for the first time.... Are you talking this season or in it's life? Either way, at least their is life in it. I mean, we could possibly see that Flying Turns opens before the Voyage gets Timberliners.
June 28, 201313 yr I mean ever. I hope this works. I always wanted to ride an authentic Bartlett version.
October 5, 201312 yr Reports coming in are that Flying Turns has opened to the public today. http://newsitem.com/flying-turns-opens-at-knoebels-1.1563700 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151936143538566&set=a.382599058565.162665.194340658565&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606371709425468&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151936347818566&set=a.382599058565.162665.194340658565&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606385812757391&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606378166091489&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater
October 5, 201312 yr Yup its confirmed that its open now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
October 6, 201312 yr I have to ask.... is there something that made the original versions of this coaster a ton better than this version? I am happy its open for the reason westcoaster stated above.... a classic is reborn... but I genuinely do not see myself riding this unless its a walk-on. I am not one of those who "must have coaster credits" like Im going to get some prize for them at the end of my natural Life, so I see this as being nothing more than a nice structure to take photos of when I make it to Knoebels.
October 6, 201312 yr I won't judge until I ride it. Many fantastic rides don't look like much...Traver rocket ships come immediately to mind. I'm still a wee bit under the weather or I'd have headed up there today.
