Big Sexy Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Been built for six years and still has not opened. 2 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 It may have been built 6 years ago, but it's constantly going through changes and some (not a whole lot) of testing.Which will open first? Flying Turns, Kentucky Kingdom, or Voyage with Timberliners? 10 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Biggest bust of all time? and has been built for six years..... If you want to talk about that we should take a trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg....I can show you a space that was once occupied by a roller coaster for 6 years... It was called Drachen Fire... 6 Quote

Drachen fire is considered a success vs flying turns cause it actually opened. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 But can Drachen Fire really be considered a success given its short lived life at Busch Gardens Williamsburg? 1 Quote
Browntggrr Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Biggest bust of all time? On a KI fan site? Has FT reached $50+ million yet & been dismantled? Then & only then it can be discussed. Until then, only one ride easily has the identity of "biggest bust". 12 Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 But at least some guests got to enjoy SoB. 5 Quote

Big Sexy Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 SOB was the park's signature ride for at least 5 years and had the longest lines. Everyone raved about it but when intamin & b&m hypers became relevent it made people hate a hyper woodie even more. Quote
Browntggrr Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Popularity is not proven through long lines. True "signature" rides last much longer than 5 years aside from the fact SoB's last rides were in 2009 after initially opening in 2000. 2 Quote

Creed Bratton Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Not for the first time.... Are you talking this season or in it's life? Either way, at least their is life in it. I mean, we could possibly see that Flying Turns opens before the Voyage gets Timberliners. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I mean ever. I hope this works. I always wanted to ride an authentic Bartlett version. 5 Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Reports coming in are that Flying Turns has opened to the public today. http://newsitem.com/flying-turns-opens-at-knoebels-1.1563700 https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151936143538566&set=a.382599058565.162665.194340658565&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606371709425468&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151936347818566&set=a.382599058565.162665.194340658565&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606385812757391&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=606378166091489&set=a.404710546258253.95008.115430945186216&type=1&theater 9 Quote

westcoaster Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 good to see its open, and a classic is reborn. 5 Quote
IBEW_Sparky Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I have to ask.... is there something that made the original versions of this coaster a ton better than this version? I am happy its open for the reason westcoaster stated above.... a classic is reborn... but I genuinely do not see myself riding this unless its a walk-on. I am not one of those who "must have coaster credits" like Im going to get some prize for them at the end of my natural Life, so I see this as being nothing more than a nice structure to take photos of when I make it to Knoebels. The Interpreter Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I won't judge until I ride it. Many fantastic rides don't look like much...Traver rocket ships come immediately to mind. I'm still a wee bit under the weather or I'd have headed up there today. 4 Quote
