Least Favorite Ride?

Featured Replies

Plain and simple. What is your least favorite operating ride (not just at Kings Island) and why?

Personally, my least favorite is Delirium because of it's short ride cycle plus it gets old quickly. When I last rode it a few days ago, it wasn't as fun as I remembered. The gimmick is lost for me. Maybe if I wait a season or two, the thrill will return to me but I doubt it.

Seriously...ride Maggie sans trims, excellent ride. I've had that priviledge only a few times and it's worth it every time. Dunno how someone doesn't like maggie, it's an icon, it's a classic, and it

Slingshot is a pure snoozefest to me. I wouldn't ride it even if it was free and only had a one-cycle wait.

If you wanted to get top-secret information out of me, you might as well just put me on Sidewinder at Hersheypark.

Maybe it's just because the last couple of seasons the ride has made me sore every time I ride, but I have to say Vortex. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy it, but it's just a ride I can't marathon anymore because it makes me feel like I just got knocked out by Rocky Balboa each time.

WindSeeker. Sure it's a a tall ride but where's the thrill? I can get the same thrill standing atop the Eiffel Tower or Drop Tower. It's down constantly and it's just plain boring. The only good thing WindSeeker does is give a unique view of the park.

I can not stand Firehawk. I had been wanting to ride it for a couple years (after it was put in at KI) and once I moved back to the area it was the first ride I hit up. The lift hill was incredibly loud, the ride didn't seem fast enough, and by the end my shins hurt. May be an unpopular opinion but it's mine and I love it, just like all my other unpopular opinions.

I have a few to go over.

First- Son of Beast. I would only ride it in the front 2 seats during the loop era, but after the 'refurb', it was totally un-rideable.

I know they weren't designed to be fast or thrilling, but Thunder Express at Dollywood (used to be where Tornado is) and Hershey's Trailblazer were just boring to me.

Lastly, I hated Viper at Six Flags Great Adventure. I found it rough and a bit claustrophobic with those rings (I know it was designed that way, but it was still an uncomfortable experience for me).

Those are the only few I really have a dislike for. Most other rides I've done have had some redeeming quality.

* The Roller Coaster at New York, New York Casino. Truly wretched. Head banger extraordinaire.

* Ninja at Six Flags Over Georgia. Horrid Vekoma.

* Zamperla Flying Coasters. Oucharooney. Jane, Jane, Get Me Off this Crazy Thing.

* Maverick in any row but the front. Total snoozefest. The Skyride is more thrilling.

The only ride I've ever been on that was above-and-beyond terrible was Son of Beast. Since the OP requested operating coasters, I'd have to say either Thunderhawk at Michigan's Adventure or Sidewinder at Hersheypark. Vekoma tried their darnedest to sprain anything of mine they could with those two. (I know some of you guys out there have been on SLCs typically considered far worse than Thunderhawk and are thus rolling your eyes. It's the only one I've been on.)

i hate to say it but for me its Vortex...i love the ride but every single time ive rode it in the last 2 years i got off feeling like i got the crap beat out of me.

I'd have to say The Hurler at Kings Dominion.

The b/f and I rode that about a week ago.

During the first turn, after the drop, I cracked my head into my b/f's side.... my ear still hurts.. :(

First, Invertigo at KI. I don't find the ride all that thrilling, it beats you to death, and only lasts about a minute.

Next, I hate to say it but... Vortex. Still a very fun ride, but beats you too badly, I couldn't even ride it last time I visited because the Invertigo had already given me a terrible headache.

Next, WindSeeker. It's completely boring and I'm not the biggest fan of heights.

Last, all those boat rides at Disney World. I know most of the rides there aren't really thrilling, as its mostly a family park, but can you get rid of a few boat rides. C'mon now

Of what's still operating, I'm not a big fan of BLSC, I just don't find it too exciting after the initial launch and it really isn't worth the wait. Vortex is getting harder on me, headache-wise, but I wouldn't put it on my hate list just yet.

Also didn't really care for Corkscrew at CP.

Green Lantern: First Flight. (SFMM)

It felt like I was riding a Rock-O-Plane that wanted to murder me, all without actually turning me upside down.

Corkscrew is a fun ride if you know where to ride and how :)

Anyways, least favorite ride is KI WindSeeker, CP WindSeeker is a great view especially at night, no moon makes the lake look like black glass right under you, def +.

Roller coaster has to be Italian Job...it does nothing for me post launch. Close second was SOB, great ideas and concept, bad bad bad follow through

Magnum has to be the most overrated roller coaster of all time.

It is greatly resting on its laurels and has absolutely no business being ranked #8 best steel coaster by AT.

And that is my honest opinion.

Seriously...ride Maggie sans trims, excellent ride. I've had that priviledge only a few times and it's worth it every time. Dunno how someone doesn't like maggie, it's an icon, it's a classic, and it still rocks...Never have I seen this opinion before but ah well

^It may be an icon, but its just too rough for me to enjoy. When I visited CP last Friday, I even waited for a seat in the very front and I thought: "Oh maybe this time I will actually enjoy Magnum if I'm in the front". But still it was just too rough for me and there is no element of the ride that I like. Those last bunny hops really ARE torture.

^It is if your restraint is practically a heavy metal bar with a layer of rubber on it.

Don't get me wrong, airtime is great (perhaps THE best thing about roller coasters), but when you don't have comfortable restraints, it is just not good. Ever ride Tornado at Stricker's Grove in the very back?...
