What kind of Coaster should PKI build next?

I would love a great Stand-up! But, if PKI builds a coaster, I want them to build it and make it a QUALITY coaster, not just something to break a record. Something like the "Incredible Hulk" would be really awesome. I would like a caoster that has some theming mixed in. Build it to please, not to break records.

PKI does have the longest hyper in the world. Son of Beast is considered a hyper and that's why I see PKI getting a steel rollercoaster over 300 feet. I don't see why PKI would add another hyper when they already have SOB. They have the land and the money to build a Giga. I think 04 or 05 we will see this. I also think it will be taller and faster than MF and SD2000.

Why would they care about if it is taller than Millenium Force and the other if its not going to be taller than Top Thrill Dragster. I don't konw if I can really see a 300ft-er in the park anywhere. I can see going a little taller than SOB but probably not too much taller.

I'm still hoping for that nice B&M invert to take the place of the unused Antique Car side and the lake/land opposite it.

One taller than CP's new one. I think CP's is 420ft high, they should make theirs 500ft tall! -adam12

That would be cool....but i don't think that would ever happen. I hope we do get a hyper or giga coaster, but they don't need to build one that breaks records. Just make it fun!

I don't think thats great placement, by the lake and the unused antique car side, there's not a coaster in that park that crosses over a path, and i don't think they're going to start now, especially with plenty of land in various other places.

Have you ever been on Flight of Fear or back to see the helicopters? You went under a coaster there. Have you ever been in the Action FX theatres, you went under racer yet again to get there. How about Son of Beast, you walk under the turn around from the brakes to get into the station or Face/Off, cause that goes under the track as well.

They can go over paths if they want to, they can go under. Though yeah, it is usually easier to design a ride that simply doesn't cross anything cause it is cheaper and takes less engineering.

I know they CAN do it... i just forgot about that. Many many many other parks do it. But the point in putting a coaster there is...? it would be cramped, and it would kill the view from Wings, if there is one... Why not just move it behind TR, or FOF where the haunted trail thing was, eh?

There is no view from Wings. That has all grown up with trees and brush, you can not see across that lake during the summer.

Can't move anything easily behind TR. Why? Imagine walking along the street and then you fall down a man hole. That is just about what happens back there, just not as steep and sudden. Plus then you have all the traffic from The Beast and TR right there in an already crowded spot during peak areas. Not saying they can't build anything back there but it will be difficult.

I think it would be cool if PKi built a coaster that went over a major walkway. Like corkscrews over Coney Malls wide path, or something like that. There is one coaster at Carowinds that does that, and creates a really neat effect. I thought it was neat to look up and see people corkscrewing by overhead.

I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool, i'm definately pro-coaster-over-path, its just that i think that's a really bad spot, unless they take out the other side of the cars, which would probably save them more money then i care to know. it could even do the afore mentioned coney mall loop if they wanted it to. But i just don't think that would happen, with The Racer running the length of the midway, they probably wouldn't want anything taking away from that, because its a nice looking ride. and the lake is nice looking as well, better to leave well enough alone and expand on their land behind FOF, because there is a bunch, back into what looks like a ravine both from the little bit you can see during fear fest, and the coasters, and the satellite photos. I think it would be awesome if the hill only looked to be as tall as The Vortex or even SOB, but it dropped another hundred feet down into the ravine, through the woods... don't see too many steels doing that.

Yeah, that would be pretty neat. I hink it would also be cool, if the coaster actually ran through the hills and stuff. Make the coaster fit the terrain, not the terrain fit the coaster, so if you put a turn in, and it turns towards a hill, make a tunnel for that section of track, and have it coem out of the hill somewhere else. I think this could produce a really neat effect. I also think if they do that, they should develop some type of theme for the ride, and add some really good theming elements, to enhance the riding experience.

But there's something special in the pure ride experience, a la The Beast or Son of Beast, you know? Very very minor theming, you know, but an awesome ride, that doesnt need to be disguised by theming to be an awesome ride. Subtle theming on a coaster is great, but heavy theming on an anchor coaster isn't good, i don't think. Tomb Raider theming is great for tomb raider, because its a flat, and Adventure Express theming is great for Adventure Express, because its a runaway mine train, not an anchor coaster. But I couldn't agree more about catering the coaster to the terrain instead of visa-versa, i.e. SOB.

I think you're right... but I also think the higher ups are smart enough to build a steel before another woodie... don't get me wrong, its not as desperate as I'm making this sound, and I love woodies, but we already rule that genre... let us expand our horizons...

Yeah a Raging Bull type ride would be nice, that coaster rocks. Again with me wanting an invert, I would love a nice smaller custom invert that puts Talon in a run for its money.

Cause I'm sure Kings Island wouldn't crap out and not go the extra to get a custom design and not some cookie cutter clone.

Kings Island produces very few clones. I would bet any coaster we see, is most likely going to be of the custom type. PKI seems like most of their clones are rides and some items from other parks. I am thinking, whatever we get, will be custom and not a clone. I could go for one really kick butt inverter, like a B&M or some type of coaster we do not yet have, by some manufacturer, other than arrow, even though I like their coasters.
