July 23, 201313 yr I was browsing through some family tapes and found some footage of Kings Island from 2003 when paramount owned it, some clips showed Scooby doo mascots the haunted house me on The Beastie, That log ride wild throne berrys river adventure, Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad and more.
July 23, 201313 yr Author Sounds great! Any chance we could see it? Whish I could it's a tape cassette tape and need to covert it to DVD unless somebody has a easier way, currently the video camera player needs to be clean which I'll clean it now. Whish I could show it.
July 23, 201313 yr its now "race for your life charlie brown" or the "log flume they didn't take down"
July 23, 201313 yr While that may be good, I would go to a professional, not all walmarts hire competent people. You are more likely to lose your tapes that have them saved....
November 10, 201312 yr Author I am recording the tape so I can post it to YouTube and I will share in the next 2 hours at minimum.
November 11, 201312 yr Author All right the moment you've been waiting for, here is the video enjoy...By the way I'm the little boy in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v6BXbSjn1U&feature=youtu.be
November 11, 201312 yr Adorable! When Katie was little, she hated when people were dressed up in character costumes. She would scream lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

September 30, 201411 yr I remember 2003 as if it were yesterday, I remember walking towards the Phantom Theatre, then shocked when I saw Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, I am still deciding which ride I had liked better, I'm 50/50 on both rides.
September 30, 201411 yr That was an awesome video. Makes me wish I knew where to find that video my uncle made in the late 70's or early 80's of his ride on The Racer. Also taped some of the fireworks too.
October 1, 201411 yr Did anyone else notice the more-ambient International Street music? Makes me quite envious of 2003... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
October 3, 201411 yr Yes awesome video! brought back many memories. At 0:10 ticket booths & at 0:36 tram loading and unload area, both are long gone. When I worked there in 2005 most of the music on International Street was from Paramount movie's, Top Gun Anthem, Raider of the last ark, James Bond 007. At Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, only remember seeing Scooby Doo outside for the meet and greet. Don't remember seeing Shaggy and Velma that much, on the last weekend of the year they had the Flintstones out with Scooby Doo together. While on break during Winterfest, got a picture of me with Scooby Doo.

October 3, 201411 yr Yeah when I pulled your Kings Island video up on Youtube, remembered your username on there with the Conrail logo.
October 4, 201411 yr It's amazing to me, both how much has changed and how much has stayed the same, in that video.
October 4, 201411 yr Park had such a different feel. Not better or worse. Just different! A very different place to visit for many reasons.
October 4, 201411 yr Very much so. That video makes me think. Nearly all of us have pondered how Kings Island has changed under Cedar Fair. But...how has the Paramount Parks acquisition changed Cedar Point? To start with, there have been fewer major coasters, WindSeeker, Gatekeeper-which would not have happened before...Dick Kinzel was forced out early...
October 5, 201411 yr Great video, thanks for sharing. I think you could make a good argument for 2003 being the "height" of the Paramount years. Spongebob was a big attraction then and Tomb Raider still worked.

To start with, there have been fewer major coasters, WindSeeker, Gatekeeper-which would not have happened before...Dick Kinzel was forced out early... Well, we don't know about the Kinzel thing. If you may recall, they announced Kinzel's extension shortly after the acquisition, on the moniker of "seeing the chain through the acquisition process." Whether extending his contract was the plan all along, we don't know.
October 5, 201411 yr $11.50 per unit sale. That was his downfall. I agree. However he may not have made it that far without the acquisition. Or he could have. Without it, he probably wouldn't have had any type of case for a leveraged buyout. It's incredible how one thing affects another and so on. Jack Falfas might have been CEO now.
October 5, 201411 yr And, Kings Island wouldn't have Banshee. What it would have, no one will ever know for sure. It's a new day coming.... See Carowinds. I intend to. See the USA, with a Dorney Platinum Pass in 2015!
