The Interpreter
I could go either way on this. I quite like B&M coasters for their smooth layouts and comfortable restraints. But I love a good crazy ride on an Intamin. Top Thrill Dragster one of my favorite rides. But I have to side with B&M on this because I'd actually prefer Diamondback to Millineum Force and Maverick?
zombieninja
I was hoping this thread would die peacefully. Oh well, I gave it a null vote. Competition makes the world a more interesting place.
thedevariouseffect
Best manufacturer...home made coasters. Think, it never has lines, always works whenever you want it to, always hits interval, it's great. Neither of the two mainly discussed manufacturers can do either of those. Plus those open seats with minimal restraints. Level 5 thrills right there I'd say
The Interpreter
First, any coaster I made would not always work. It'd be Level 5 thrills all right! "Think we'll make it off here alive? thedevariouseffect
^Lets build one, get enough PVC piping and we're good
homestar92
All this talk of homemade coasters... I'm just gonna leave this here. http://rcdb.com/326.htm Now you can all feel inadequate.
The Interpreter
Why? Al Collins designed it. He was also involved with another coaster you might have heard of....
thedevariouseffect
Al Collins designed it this but was it built by him as well? I'm not a big Strikers Grove follower.
rcwizard13
It took nearly 3 years to build that thing? Was there like only 3 workers a day on it or something?
The Interpreter
Ralph Stricker built it with a couple of helpers.
tuxedoman52
I would say B&M just because I've riden more of them. B&M is in my opinion usually smoother but Intamin is usually comfortable restraint wise. B&M: Diamondback, Raptor, Mantis, Gatekeeper, and Banshee (soon!). Intamin: Millenium Force, and Top Thrill Dragster.

flightoffear1996
The Tornado is an awesome ride! It sure packs a punch for being so small. And that last bit of airtime you get some of the best airtime on any coaster.

ethancoaster
For me, it's a tie. B&M's might not be as forceful as intamins, but they are fun and reliable. Intamins might be high maintenance rides, but they are extreme and outstanding. Personally, I don't think you could go wrong when picking between those two comapnies to build your next coaster.
tuxedoman52
and Maverick? I checked CP's website before my post and it said IntaRide LLC. Must be the same thing.
The Interpreter
(It essentially is. INTAMIN designs, IntaRide LLC sells in North America).

The Interpreter
Actually, once the 3 hour, 3 train warranty expires (it's a bit longer than that), the parks get to do it. On their nickels. And some people wonder why so many parks choose reliable B&M's, coasters that work.
APE
I hope to one day see a nice INTAMIN to go along with Kings Islands nice new B&M coasters.
thedevariouseffect
^I don't see it happening for quite some time.. What I'd like to see is anything S&S Sansei or Mack Rides GmBH being built somewhere in Ohio's CF parks
FoF96"
Is the warrenty really 3 hours? If so all I can say is WOW that's not even enough time to complete testing phase. It also shows how much faith a company has in its product.
TheCrypt
It's not. Hence the "it's a bit longer than that."

BeastForever
Some people want to be difficult. Its not a mistake that intamin took 8 out of 10 spots in the last mitch hawker poll.15 intanims scored in the top 50 steel coasters for the golden ticket awards 23 b&m's scored in the top 50 as well in the top 5 steel coasters for the golden ticket awards intanim scored first and second while b&m scored third and fourth. I think one of the reasons for that is that you have to understand that the panelists who vote in GTA's rankings told to rate their coasters based on overall experience (which greatly includes reliability) rather than just the riding experience alone. The Mitch Hawker poll for instance, would be pretty much 99% based on the riding experience alone, as the ballots are sent in by any random person, which explains why INTAMINS succeed so well in that poll. But then again, one could argue that neither the GTA's nor Hawker polls mean anything.

rcwizard13
Making sure other people like the ride might matter. Otherwise, the relationship between you and your favorite ride may end similar to the Rolling Thunder-Terpy relationship.
