TheBEASTunchained Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 ^ No dates for the 2014 operating season have been released yet. Construction crews are at the site this morning, ready to (hopefully) complete Banshee's Batwing element..... 5
Adventuro Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 April 19th- November 2nd. This is my guess. 4
The Interpreter Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 A better question is whether the park will be open to the public the Sunday after the first Saturday it is open. Lately, it has not been. 7
upstop Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Just remember the queue for Diamond Back will be renamed to Banshee overflow in 2014.... Will it be playing Banshee Screams Or Taylor Swifts "I knew you were trouble when you walked in"? A Banshee scream and Taylor Swift are pretty much interchangeable. 9
Millslite Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Just remember the queue for Diamond Back will be renamed to Banshee overflow in 2014.... Although the Banshee is more attractive. 9
medford Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks like they've been busy putting up the final supports for the Batzel, which means the track should be going up shortly to tie it all together (these are the supports that are sittng at a fairly steep angle like we've seen in several places on this ride, and would appear like supports you wouldn't want to sit around too long w/o being tied back into the track to give them full stability) anyhoo, I'm guessing the Batzel is in place sometime in the next hour or two. 3
upstop Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Is the webcam screen frozen? Seems like it has been at a standstill for hours now. Could be an illusion...I can't tell. edit: nevermind....I think it's moving now.... 2
davidw Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 it looks like there was a delivery in the staging area. I'm thinking that the forklift is busy unloading that. Once they are finished, they can move the next piece of track up. 3
Oldschool75 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I'm baffled by people on KI's Facebook! They updated the Cover Photo of the track out of the Batwing element heading to the 2nd vertical loop and people swear the ride is from Cedar Point or they're taking it down already! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152476059428368&set=a.10150821122978368.513320.155893938367&type=1&theater Wow... I had to restrain myself from replying to one woman. First she said, "I have it on a very reliable source that it is complete. Not sure if this is an older in process pic, or if maybe they had to remove some parts just to get through this Arctic blast but it is completed! Woo Hoo!" Someone replied to her that it's not done yet and to check out the live webcam, to which she responded, "Those cams aren't reliable, and I know the one who told me is, but I will also ask a worker who has been onsite on this since day one to confirm." I almost replied with "So a LIVE webcam isn't reliable? A camera that shows you pictures of the coaster as it looks right at this moment? Wow... And why would they need to 'remove some parts just to get through this Arctic blast?'," but I didn't want to start an argument with someone who is completely ignorant of coaster constuction. Not that I'm all that knowledgeable on the subject myself, but at least I have some knowledge, plus enough sense to know that a live camera is more than likely showing me the truth. Seeing is believing, as they say. People like this make me wonder if they took aspirin as a child when they had a fever? 8
davidw Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 They must be having an issue with that last support. They are currently taking it down for the 2nd time. 4
Gplez90 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I noticed that too. Yesterday they only put up one section of it then they took it down. Today the put the entire thing up now half of it it gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
sikkinixx99 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 must be some major trouble they are taking the other side down now 1
steveinphoenix Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 it probably needs a little "tweeking" to get it to fit just right 4
medford Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I thought perhaps my lyin' eyes were decieving me as I swore before lunch it was up, and now its gone. I'm glad to know my eyes still show the truth. 4
Existential Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Perhaps its like putting together 'cheap' funiture with the A pieces, the B shelves and the C uprights. Maybe they lost 3 little, silver peg supports when they were only given 2 extra. Again, they could have the furniture together when their wife realizes that the C upright is in backwards. I'm certain its exactly like that. 9

thedevariouseffect Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Wow seeing all the train contacts and stuff on both sides...so similar to current wing rider trains...amazing to see this technology overlap. No more hydraulic restraint release and locks 7
davidw Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 looks like CJ is disconnected from the support. Must be good this time 4
Gplez90 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Working past sundown to get at least one more piece of track installed! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 4
steveinphoenix Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I have been anxiously awaiting davidw 's completion schematic for today. 2
davidw Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 On their third attempt, one support and one piece of track installed today. Link to gallery 18
FoF96" Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 The word "Batzel" has been stuck in my head all day. Idk why because I am calling it batwing, I think it was the golden batzels that did it. 3
The Interpreter Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Sounds too much like Kinzel for me... 7
BoddaH1994 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 It's hard to believe how close they are to completing track installation. I'm actually kind of dreading it because it's going to drive me nuts seeing a full circuit coaster there on the web cam and not being able to ride it. 25
myklhicks Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I won't know what to with my life next off season. 8
MatterEaterLad Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 After track work is complete, it will take me a week or two to stop checking the webcam 10+ times a day 12
