All I know is Raptor was AWESOME, and this is going to be bigger, longer, faster, and better than Raptor, and that thrills me :D

Flying Ace is better than Craptor!

:P

What is so wrong with Raptor..May not be the best invert but it's better than some others before it..or others of the same variant. If you don't like Raptor basically half the inverts share very similar statistics and ride elements.

Regardless, there are rides you won't fully enjoy, but every coaster has something, enjoy it. For instance, Beast is alot of flat boring track with a bit of speed, but the lift hills, tunnels, helix, and terrain make for a fun ride. But admittedly there are alot of flat boring spots when you look at it

Flying Ace is a boring lame big kid coaster. How is that better than a real invert exactly? I won't ride FA unless I am super bored and it has a short line because it's boring and not worth the usual 20-30 minute wait it typically has in the summer. But hey ride the kiddie coaster all ya want if that is what gives ya your thrill LOL. I will take my upside down steep hill invert any day over a coaster that basically just takes you in circles :P

In other news, I'm starting to get sad that they are sooo close to being done with the track. It's amazing how quick they work!!! A little over 5 months from the day it was announced, and all the track construction is almost done!!! I will be so sad when everything is all done and we aren't able to ride it yet.

where is the link for the new webcam angle?

The new webcam angle is on the same page as the other webcams on the Kings Island website here: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/online-fun/webcams

....On another note....

Here are some pictures of today's construction of Banshee's second vertical loop:

For some perspective....look below the vertical loop and slightly to the left....that little orange/red strip is a construction worker...

WOW THIS THING IS HUGE!!!

Yes, the wildly sloped landscape and false-perspective caused by the overwide "road" illusion (for me) behind the coaster belies the scale of this massive thing, and makes the equipment look smaller than it really is!

I never realized how big the loops actually were until I saw that picture. gives you a different perspective.

People should also take a trip down Kings Island Drive to see the sheer size of the attraction from beyond the parking lot. At this point, every completed inversion can be seen front and center from quite a distance, even the Batwing.

But at least once it's done you can sit back and admire this beautiful piece of engineering.

It's hard to believe how close they are to completing track installation. I'm actually kind of dreading it because it's going to drive me nuts seeing a full circuit coaster there on the web cam and not being able to ride it.

In all honesty, I'm truly frightened of big things.......

I've been watching the construction of this, and am now realizing the size of it, the size of the loops. and I'm going to get vertigo just looking at it.

When this goes full circuit, I'm sure I'm going to stare at the camera for ten minutes, reconcile myself to the fear , then I'll want to jump in line and get this over with. I'll probably love it once I get over the "big" fear factor, but it's intimidating for me to see how small the workers are compared to the size of those loops.

Haha! .... And... He rubs it in.

For some reason, that batzel brings the size of the ride home, doesn't it? I know the expression on my face during my first ride is going to be like Faye Dunaway being Joan Crawford.

Looks pretty lonely on the webcams today. It would be cool if after the track work was completed if we saw our new webcam get relocated to a close up of the station.

EXACTLY! Look at the wing of a bat, then look at a pretzel, and tell me what that element looks most like.

The element looks most like a batwing.

...and that is due to the fact that, it is indeed a batwing.

*Nuff Said.

I'm wondering if we got the 2nd cam because we kept asking for one, or if there is something happening at the front gate area that they don't want us to see. lol

Raptor was and still is a great ride. I remember when we first rode it back in 94. we loved every second of it! it revolutionized the coaster industry and helped to pave the way for all the great rides such as flying coasters and other inverts like, montu, alpengeist, etc. Banshee probably would not be possible without Raptor.

Huh?

Batman the Ride, SFGAm, 1992

Nemesis, 1994.

Raptor or no Raptor, the future of inverted coasters would have been virtually the same.
