TheBEASTunchained Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Check out the Live Fury325 construction cam if you have time, because it looks as if track is now being transported to the lift hill site for erection, and I'd guess, by the pattern of what they've been doing today, we might see that track erection happen soon!....Though maybe we wont see anything, my best guess is that more track is about to be installed. ...Not that you have anything better to do than possibly watch Fury325 track lifted into place..... 2 Quote
JubJester Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Just wanted to share this. (via Carowinds webcams https://www.carowinds.com/swarm/building-the-nest/live-camera-feed ) 8 Quote
JubJester Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 They are currently putting in a support beam. (The one that is the same color as the track.) They just put it in and I am watching the live cam at https://www.carowinds.com/online-fun/webcams under live stream. (Same place I got this photo) 7 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 EDIT: Noooow I get it....Okay, just realized that It's also in the renderings... 2 Quote

McSalsa Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 One thing I'd like to comment on: walking into Carowinds when Fury 325 is complete and open is going to be epic and in-your-face, as you're going to be walking straight between a massive B&M Hyper and Giga located smack dab in the front of the park...meanwhile in the back of the park everything besides their observation tower and WindSeeker will look wimpy in comparison. Just imagine this picture (found via Google search) after Fury 325 is completed, for example, and you are in the parking lot... 10 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 More track is in the progress of being installed on the first drop of the worlds' tallest giga coaster. The swarm is making a dive! This image was captured from the Carowinds Fury 325 Construction Cam 4 Quote

TheBEASTunchained Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Wow.......Carowinds has put some absolutely GREAT photos on their Facebook page from today of Fury325 construction. Carowinds Amusement Park on Facebook: "The first pieces of track are put into place that take riders racing toward the park's new front entrance." "Construction crews begin putting the track pieces in place for the first drop!" Photos : Carowinds Amusement Park via Facebook 4 Quote
jbum123 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 And for those wondering about opening day: Carowinds Amusement Park Thanks for the questions! While we haven't released our 2015 operating calendar yet, I can tell you that opening day 2015 will be Saturday, March 28. Hope to see you then! TheBEASTunchained Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 It's very interesting to see the amount of work that they do on Fury325 on Saturdays, as oppose to the work that wasn't done on Banshee on Saturdays. ...And yes, I know, different situation, different crews, different state, different ride. Although I'd like to think that this ride takes quite a bit longer to complete than Banshee, with 4,124 ft. of track vs. 6,602 ft. of track. 3 Quote
JubJester Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Newest update: (via Carowinds Webcams https://www.carowinds.com/online-fun/webcams ) Is it just me or does the support beam seemed to be painted all blue? 5 Quote
silver2005 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 ^Leviathan has a similar support beam supporting the first drop as well, and it too is colored the same as the track. 6 Quote
JubJester Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I know but it was meant to have yellow on as well and it did when they did the first part of the beam. (See pictures above my latest post) 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 ^It does have yellow on it, just not at the angle from the webcam's perspective. 1 Quote
JubJester Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Ok. My eyes are playing tricks I guess 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Yeah, look at the set of photos TheBEASTunchained posted further up (post #369). That beam has both teal and yellow on it. 1 Quote
MDMC01 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Looking at that last picture of Fury, that is a really steep drop. Kind of excited to try this out next year along with riding Nighthawk and Carolina Cobra! 3 Quote
silver2005 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 The first drop angle is 81 degrees according to the page on Carowinds' website. That's about what Millennium Force, I305, and Leviathan have. https://www.carowinds.com/swarm/dive-into-the-fury/ride-stats 5 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 ^ Yes indeed. Millennium Force has an 80-degree drop (Source) Intimidator 305 has an 85-degree drop (Source) Leviathan has an 80-degree drop (Source) 4 Quote

electricsun Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 ^ 95 degrees; 3 more degrees and it would have made teenage girls scream in the late 90's. The coaster's colors look great in person. I don't think pictures do it justice. 8 Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The Coasters? Didn't they make girls scream in the 1950's? Terp, who likes to ask questions. 7 Quote
electricsun Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Very good point. Now you just have to go in One Direction to make people scream. 5 Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Hanson boys have usually been able to get girls to scream--the sound and the fury--in sync. On the other hand, Justin Bieber has made a lot of people scream. Terp, who best go check on his platters. 6 Quote
electricsun Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Watch out for beatles. If they've really caught on, sometimes you just have to let it be. Those really make the Spice Girls squeamish. Or could it be the ricochet from their high notes? And come next March, I don't think they'll be born to run to Thunder Road. Now, to bake a cake. Not Cake, but a cake. 6 Quote
The Interpreter Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Then there's the poster here dedicated to Nothing But Blue Skys, From Now On. Ceptin' Winters. Sorry for the....diversion. 8 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Rain rain go away.....Fury 325 will strike another day.... 4 Quote
silver2005 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I have to admit, all the giga coasters have some sort of awe inspiring support structure to gawk at, F325 being no exception. 6 Quote
