BeastForever Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 What is your favorite? Out of wood? Out of steel? And out of both? (if you can decide) My ultimate favorite is El Toro, when its running of course, while my favorite steel is Maverick. 2 Quote
Sonofbeast2.0 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Son of Beast‚ and for steel probably Revenge of the Mummy. 2 Quote

Tr0y Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Favorite wood coaster is The Beast, favorite steel coaster is millenium force. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Wood: El Toro. Steel: Maverick, but only in row 1. Overall: Maverick, but only in row 1. Honorable Mention: Volcano: The Blast Coaster (because it made me do it. It always does!) 2 Quote
jdawg1998 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: The Voyage Steel: Millennium Force Overall: Millennium Force 2 Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: Boss. Steel: Intimidator 305. Overall: Don't make me choose! 1 Quote
fanofFirehawk Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hmmm. This seems oddly familiar, but what ever. Wood: Does Gemini Count? If not than The Racer As far as Steel goes I would have to say Diamondback or Firehawk. It really just depends on how I'm feeling. 2 Quote
malem Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Of the wooden coasters I've actually ridden, I think I enjoyed The Raven most. Short and sweet. As for steel, I'm going to say that it's a tie (for enjoyment) between Maverick (any row), Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Vortex, Flight of Fear, and Millennium Force (but only at night, ideally in front). 3 Quote
razmataz99 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 For me: Wood: The Beast Steel: Diamondback Overall: Diamondback (I've only been to Kings Island) 1 Quote
THE_BEASTmaster Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: The Voyage Steel: Diamondback 1 Quote
BB1 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: Beast Steel: Expedi. Ever AK/Flight of Fear 1 Quote
Fire-Beast-OF FEAR Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: The Racer Steel: Magnum Overall: Racer All time overall: Son of Beast As you can tell I like pain and extreme airtime. Although it does not say it on this list Intamin is my favorite manufacturer with Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick, Wicked Twister, El Toro, and Ride of Steel come in close second in their respective category. That also says I enjoy unreliable death machines. 2 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: Voyage Steel: Millennium Force Overall: I don't compare wood to steel. 1 Quote
LordSkippy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Ravine Flyer II.Millennium Force.Between the two, Ravine Flyer II all the way. 1 Quote
SonofBaconator Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: The Beast Steal: Diamondback Overall: The Beast Quote
BeastForever Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 From my personal experience there are 3 coasters to me that are truly amazing and incredible in almost every way possible. They are Maverick, Voyage, and El Toro. El Toro I would argue is the GREATEST amusement ride ever built. 3 Quote
Tr0y Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I love maverick but hate the over the shoulder restraints, every sharp turn leads to my neck being slowly hacked off. I forgot to add overall favorite coaster is millennium force 1 Quote
Ride On_17 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: El Toro Steel: Millennium Force I just can't pick between the two. They're both so different but I love them. If I could marry them, I could. But El Toro is a male bull...That would be awkward... 1 Quote
coasterfanatic83 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: Voyage Steel: Maverick Overall: Voyage 2 Quote
TTD-120-420 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Wood: El Toro Steel: Maverick or Raptor in the very back seat Overall: El Toro 1 Quote

As great a ride as El Toro is, I'd loved to have ridden Harry Traver's creations and the Rye Airplane Coaster. It still makes me sick to know Kings Island had the Airplane plans and came THIS close to building it, but decided to build Son of Beast instead. Bigger is not always better. Quote
Jr for Birdy Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Having just got home from CP, I must say Maverick in the front row during the day, back row at night. The bugs I took to the face were far greater in the front at night than in the back! Millie is a very close second, and my Magnum love is fading a bit, probably from my ride count over the years . I can't decide on a wood coaster honestly, I do love the front row of The Beast at night! 2 Quote
kblanken Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 It seems GCI wants to build a new Rye Airplane. They made a NoLimits version and mention how much it has inspired them. Kings Island does have a nice relationship with Great Coasters right now, and could use a new wooden coaster in a few years... Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true. Oh, Wouldn't it be nice. 4 Quote
