My encounter with a wild animal during Haunt

Featured Replies

When I used to work at the huge Montgomery Wards warehouse, a skunk go inside the building and left its scent everywhere!

Was it the CEO?

Growing up I had a friend who had a pair of pet skunks, offensive glands removed of course. They were both very friendly, and loved to be held. Now these skunks came from a pretty long line of bred in captivity ancestors, could make a difference. Also both were female, could have something to do with it as well.

The male I handled loved to cuddle. Soooo dang sweet X) He lives with two cats they get on ok.

One haunt night I was dumping rivertown trash into the Diamondback dumpster. As it was dumping I felt something on my shoe. I looked down and a skunk was on my foot.

That was fun.

What was going through my mind can't be posted but I just remained still until the creature left.luckily it headed towards what is now known as the Reds hall of fame and grill

As of 2011 they did hire a pest control expert to come in the park at night and try and trap raccoons, squirrels, etc.

I think you underestimate the number of these creatures that live out in the woods behind the park. There are almost 200 acres of unused land that they probably live in.

I saw an animal during haunt, in backwoods bayou. ;)

With all of the undeveloped woodlands all around the park, that is prime habitat for wild animals like skunks, squirrels, raccoons and other four legged creatures and even non legged creatures.

I hope as of 2014 they hire a bee control expert, seriously!

I've seen a skunk around Diamondback and Rivertown La Rosa's a few times this season. One time I was sitting at a table eating pumpkin pie and some people warned me that he was coming up behind me.

When you had to lock out Diamondback and travel out to the MCBR/hammerhead turn there's always the risk of running into a skunk. I'm not surprised.

The key to any encounter with a skunk is to not make it feel threaten in any way. That white stripe down its back is a warning to stay away, just like the rattle on a rattlesnake. Otherwise, hope you have lots of tomato juice or what ever it takes to get the perfume off your body! :)

If I had tried to pick up that "white" garbage back that Friday night, I would not have had any problem with people not making a hole for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

There has been an unusual amount of skunks this year at Halloween Haunt, first week i went i encountered a skunk who was standing at the front door of the festhaus, 2 weeks later there was a skunk walking on the rocks while i was standing in the Diamondback line... A week after that there was a raccoon sitting ontop of The Beast vending machines while i was standing in line.
