I chose today to announce the name change to coincide with the date the original Bat was announced in 1980.

  • I was bored, so, here is my render.

  • You got your answer quick! Official Press release! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Or maybe they could have the station themed as a "bat cave".

BTW, this was my 50th post as KIC Member!

A bat cave? The Bat Cave I believe could be at a place that has Six Flags........

When I burrito myself in the sheets I consider it to be a bat cave...does that count

The night is mine

Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

I agree an actual bat would be better but simply moving this prop there for now would be very cost efficient and give it a scarier look as said above, which I like. I guess it is more of a family coaster so me wanting a dark theme is selfish but I still want it lol.

I know Kings Island won't get trains shaped like the original Bat's trains, but what about painting the current trains to something like Big Bad Wolf's trains used to look like where it had the eyes painted on?

I don't know coaster abbreviations other than most of CP's and KI's. What coaster is/was BBW and where is/was it?

Big Bad Wolf was an Arrow Dynamics Suspended Coaster that was located at Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Virginia. It was removed for Verbolten in 2009.

Thank you

That looks like a crane to me. Could be wrong though.

That is definitely a crane.

No part of the ride has been repainted yet.

D'oh! Don't I feel silly. Guess my post about the supports being repainted was wrong--it really was just the light that made them look gray. Thanks, Don!

Man I feel stupid now. Thanks for clearing things up Don.

Guys, there is a lot of prep work that needs to be done before painting can take place. they are not going to spend money and just throw a coat on. The surface has to be prepared so the new paint will stick and stay on old paint. Plus I'm sure there is normal maintenance they want to get done on the ride before painting. The black spots you see on the lift hill provided from another member is grease. This stuff has to be all cleaned and removed before paint can start. The actual spraying of the paint is the last and quickest part of repainting soethin

Don't they use paint rollers to paint roller coasters and other big amusement park rides instead of spray painting?

just checked the webcam again and i dont think thats a crane because its in the exact same spot and hasnt moved since monday and if you look close enough you can see the track of the first drop is much lighter like a primer coat of paint. i think its safe to say they have started painting the first drop orange. could be wrong though...

^I tend to believe this guy, I'm sure he knows what he is talking about!

Painting has now begun on the track at the top of the lift and where it begins to drop.
