RhondaMumford Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I just wanted to make this topic because I simply love the Kings Island Floral Clock. I hope they never remove it, even with the clock hands not working 85%of the time, the brightly colored flowers just brighten my day. I love to just sit out there on a bench, enjoy a nice Auntie Ann's pretzel and listen to the chirp of the birds as the they fly through the flowers. I want to give praise to those who keeps this clock alive every single year, your efforts are not overlooked. I remember the floral clock from when I was little, every single visit we would always take a photo in front of it. I also remember watching the Brady Bunch episode in 1973, when the awe of the floral clock swept across my television set, it was just as if I was there smelling those purple tulips. I hope the floral clock is here to stay. What is your opinions on the floral clock? With best regards, Rhonda Mumford. 21 Quote
fanofFirehawk Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Judging by the improvement of our "sister" park, Kings Dominion is receiving I would be willing to bet not only will the floral clock be with us for quite awhile but will receive a lot more love making it a functional teller of time that guests can look upon with awe. 5 Quote
The Interpreter Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 See also Kentucky's Floral Clock, which was just completely refurbished. And Welcome to KIC! 6 Quote
CedarPointer Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Now that the Starlight Spectacular is no more, I'm hoping that the whole thing will be planted this year instead of just a few sections of it (the other sections had lights in them). I'd be thrilled if it and the floral calendar were upgraded to have the park logo in them like they used to, but we can't get everything we want, I suppose. 8 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Welcome to KIC! That clock is part of Kings Island's personality. Like a certain band organ, even if it were to take a hiatus, it would soon be back, and in its full glory. 7 Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Glad you FINALLY decided to join us, Rhonda! I'll see you around the park next year!!! 9 Quote
BB1 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Just add in a little bit of lantana here and there, possibly a few marigolds for a summer flush of orange and yellow, or a purple and white mix of petunias or pansies. I too enjoy the floral clock, I do like botany, and the implications of botany at Kings Island. BB1, a gardener. (P.S., did I miss something about Rhonda?) Quote

RhondaMumford Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 The Interpreter, I grew up in South Carolina and moved to Cincinnati in 1988. I have never heard someone say Jiminiy by itself, I have only seen people say it Jiminiy Cricket. We live in such a rich and diverse world! Best regards, Rhonda Mumford. 2 Quote
