The Interpreter Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Wonder if there is any chance they would ever fully enclose the helix as shown in original drawings. EVER? Ever is a very long time. Even the they could change several times during ever. Quote

jdf21972 Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 My father who past away 7 years ago this year, this was his ride. He didn't care to wait 2 hours to ride he loved to ride The Beast and enjoyed it every time, and with my kids grown old enough now to ride, it would have been a sight seeing 3 generations riding The Beast. 10 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted April 9, 2014 Author Posted April 9, 2014 An article about The Beast and its 35th birthday was published today by the Herald Dispatch of WV. The article can be found below: Kings Island's wooden coaster, The Beast turns 35 this season 3 Quote

shark6495 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I was going to say it looks like a stand up piece versus an interview... Is he hosting a small video about it? Makes more sense that way. Quote
jdf21972 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Does anyone know if Carl Eicherman(sorry about the spelling) is around? Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Does anyone know if Carl Eicherman(sorry about the spelling) is around? I wanted to know the exact same thing, as I hadn't heard anything from or about him recently so I decided to ask Don back in November and this is what he had to say...... Carl is retired and living near Maysville, Ky. With the 2014 season marking the 35th anniversary of The Beast, he'll be heard from again. 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I suspect a gentleman will probably be at Media Day.... 8 Quote
calakapepe Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I was going to say it looks like a stand up piece versus an interview... Is he hosting a small video about it? Makes more sense that way. Probably deals with FUN TV that we've heard of on here... Or is it KI TV since the website says so? Perhaps there'll be some behind the scenes footage seen soon. I'd bet there may be cameras, no dip, specifically for KI TV at media day for Banshee... Not that you'd know the difference between what camera is for what.. EDIT: oh look! \/\/\/\/ Quote
DonHelbig Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Looks like a self interview Interview with a show that airs nationally. The reporter for the feature was off to the right side of the camera asking questions. Our Town Magazine just did a great feature on The Beast's 35th anniversary. 12 Quote
CoasterOhio Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Will there most likely be more Beast Tour dates happening this year due to it's anniversary? Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 I figured that, or he had an earpiece, there was a winkie afterwards haha, you should know me enough by now Don 1 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 (Now that I am in the right topic....) The Beast was "unchained" on this date in 1979. ......and on another note........ Adventure Express opened on this date in 1991. 5 Quote

themuska11 Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Wow the first lift hill is really fast now. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk It may be because i think they're only running two trains. 2 Quote
thedevariouseffect Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 If the block is clear the train will run full speed until it hits lift crest, which I prefer to experience, I'm not much for lollygagging on the lift 1 Quote
stashua123 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I keep on hearing that The Beast was renovated by GCI during the off-season from lots of people on facebook and other forum websites. Is this true? Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I thought everything was done in-house by KI? And it's not listed on GCI's website under their list of projects. 2 Quote
PKIVortex Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I was disapointed on the lack of 35th Anniversary merchandise. I hope they will sell some at some point. They have always had shirts, hats, shot glasses etc. But none was to be found this past weekend, I checked in all of the shops. 4 Quote
IBEW_Sparky Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Yep, Anniversary thunder stolen, once again. Its a shame too, considering my Beast ride taken on Friday was without a doubt the BEST ride Ive taken on it since my first trip to KI back in 06. Seriously, its running that well. 2 Quote
TheBEASTunchained Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Although a 35th anniversary POV has been released by the park / Don Helbig (and posted in another topic). Theme Park Review has just released their 35th anniversary Beast POV that was recorded just days ago. Enjoy. 1 Quote
