BoddaH1994
I know this has been mentioned before, but I thought it deserved its own topic in case anyone missed it. From Kings Island's Facebook: SAVE THE DATE: Exclusive night ride time for Gold and Platinum passholders on the new record-breaking Banshee and Bat roller coasters Friday, May 9, from 10:30 p.m. until midnight!

PKIVortex
ERT Can also mean Extra Ride Time, or Extended Ride Time.
The Interpreter
E is for exclusive, not necessarily early... EDIT: Second, yet different.

Webble78
Does anyone know how this will work? How will they prevent general public from being in line? Also suggestions on how to get my name changed on here are welcome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Interpreter
To change your name on here, send a PM to Dane. That's the easiest way.
MarkB.
I won't be making this one. I will be at IMS for the Inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis .Maybe on in the future.
jcgoble3
Does anyone know how this will work? How will they prevent general public from being in line? At Cedar Point's Platinum Pass ride nights, riders were required to show their pass at the entrance each time they entered the line. The same was true with CoasterMania where the event lanyard had to be shown. I would imagine the same would be true here, requiring you to flash your Gold or Platinum Pass at the ride entrance each time.

Will we get in line after them or use the the Fast Lane? I'm curious as I haven't been able to experience the night ride yet and this may be my daughter & I's only opportunity.
jcgoble3
There will still be people in the park, but I doubt there will still be anybody in line for Banshee at 10:30, considering that it's a Friday. Previous Fridays this season (excluding opening day, which is always slammed and doubly so when you open something like Banshee) have seen very short lines across the park. I would not expect a 30-minute wait for Banshee when they cut the line off at 10:00. Also, there is no such thing as LRT; it's ERT. The "E" stands for "exclusive", not "early". thedevariouseffect
Some of us may show a Gold Pass, however not of the CF Chain and still sadly get into ERT.
The Interpreter
Surely not. Security wouldn't let THAT happen.

malem
Unless there is a rain-out... Banshee has yet to see a rainy day of public operation, so we may find out. Most rides at Kings Island continue operating in the rain, as long as there is no lightning in the area. Hopefully this will also be the case with Banshee. The Interpreter
That depends. If it as an absolute gully-washer, the park can be and has been closed. My point is that ERT, or even that the park will be open, is not "guaranteed."
Jr for Birdy
Surely not. Security wouldn't let THAT happen. They surely wouldn't let several people get in line for Banshee right after the clock struck 10 pm on opening day, I even heard one yell at a kid who just walked to the fence. I would have prepared for opening day to allow riders an extra 20 minutes to get in line for Banshee considering the demand. It left a bad taste in my mouth watching the way they were turning people away.
jcgoble3
^ They have to draw the line somewhere. If they allow leeway for the group that walks up at 10:00:20, then the group that arrives at 10:00:35 might see that as they're approaching and get angry because "you let them slide and not us!". And that could occur at any time, because on opening day there was probably more or less a steady stream of people coming up, and at some point they have to chop the line and deny somebody entry. It's a lot easier to explain why they got in but you didn't, and likely to make the guest a lot less mad, if you just cut the line off at 10:00:00 and explain that the park just closed for the day, rather than giving a few people leeway and then trying to explain to an angry guest why they don't get to ride while the guest takes personal offense to it because "you let them in but not me". PKIVortex
Cedar Point keeps there lines open till 8 minutes past the posted closing hour.
jcgoble3
Which is fine, because that's a defined rule, just like KI's policy of closing the line exactly at scheduled closing time. Either way, the greeter/security guard has a set rule they can point to explain why he got in and you didn't, instead of cutting the line off two minutes later and having to explain to the guest that you cut it there completely arbitrarily, which is likely to **** them off. The Interpreter
It hasn't been all that many years ago that The Beast line was cut off so that the ride could close as the park did. Otherwise, the ride was so popular that the line could easily have still been being served several hours after closing. Volcano: The Blast Coaster and Grizzly did this at Kings Dominion, too.
