XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Not sure if anyone else is here but 2 mason fire trucks and 2 ambulances just pulled up and had members walk back to chase with axes in hand. Hearing rumors but nothing official. Will keep updated if I hear. Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I saw that too. We saw three fire trucks blocking off X-Base. Hope everyone is ok, but it doesn't look good. Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 To confirm there are 4 fire trucks total. 2 fire/ems pick ups as well as the ambulances. Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Sounds like an issue with FoF, but no confirmation. Via twitter I saw that Fox19 is on their way. Quote
malem Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Via WCPO on Twitter. Take initial reports with a grain of salt, of course. "On fire" might be a dramatic choice of words. I hope that everyone is safe, whatever is going on. #BREAKING: Kings Island indoor Flight of Fear roller coaster on fire. Warren County crews responding. https://twitter.com/WCPO/status/473540262422003712 Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 We were on Banshee and saw them driving through Coney Mall. Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Watching it unfold a little. Tons of pizzas and drinks are going back to x-base, presumable for those who may have been on the ride at the time of the incident. Quote

CoastersRZ Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 According to WCPO, three or four fires were reported in the building. Hard to tell based on the article (http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/warren-county/mason/report-kings-island-flight-of-fear-indoor-roller-coaster-catches-fire) What exactly was on fire. I`m fairly certain that Flight of Fear has a sprinkler system, so damage hopefully is minimal. I wonder if it was related to some electrical equipment catching on fire. I am sure we will get some more details soon. Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Staff members seem unphased, so things must not be too bad. Quote

XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 We were just cleared off if the side of coney mall that the trucks are on. A couple more staff members came out looking rough. Sounds like they are cleaning a lot of coney mall out though. Quote
CharleyTheDinosaur Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Lots and lots of kids here at the park today. Hopefully it's just a false alarm pulled by an immature prankster. Quote

BoddaH1994 Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Plus they'd clear people out to get the trucks out safely. This incident may be done. Quote
SOB_TOM Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Could be anything at this point. One would think that the news stations picked up the story from the radio calls, meaning in house fire Dept couldn't handle it. The ambulances responding are just standard practice so those mean nothing. 1 Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Park staff, and they are coughing pretty heavily and sweating pretty bad. Some very concerned faces. Quote

APE Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 As long as I don't see pictures of the building on fire I'm going to assume the best and that everyone is fine along with the ride. 3 Quote
XjoshhyX Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 News chopper flying overhead. They did let us back in the arcade though, so that's good. 1 Quote
Oldiesmann Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I'm sure the news crews picked it up from the radio. It seems most of them have scanners which monitor police and fire frequencies for anything that might be newsworthy. 1 Quote
