Magenta Lizard Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Ok, I think Firehawk has to go. It is clearly an arsonist. 19 Quote
malem Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 A couple weeks ago, one smoking motor was reported as four fires. Initial reports should be taken with a grain of salt. 7 Quote
bkroz Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Flight of Fear is smoking again. I have a friend there he said he can see the smoke and cops are running to it. Picture sent to me from my friend. 5 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 The picture looks like the smoke (possibly fire) is in the exit area. If so, while not good, it's not nearly as bad as it could be. Quote
bkroz Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 The launch tunnel is also back there... Difficult to tell where the smoke is rising from. Quote
upstop Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Always said that ride was a smokin fun ride. edit: wonder what it looks like from the tower? 4 Quote
Existential Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 They should move a Sausage Food Cart over there by it and perhaps it wouldn't look too suspicious. 5 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Fire is the great enemy of amusement parks. You'll have to pardon me while I ditch the humor and hope and pray everyone is safe and the ride is not damaged. 27 Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Sigh. Can we wait to see what is going on? The media WILL turn here. This is what you want them to see? Really? 8 Quote
Guest waitinginline617 Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I didn't see any pictures from the last smoke incident. Does this look the same or is there more visible smoke this time around? 2 Quote
Existential Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Perhaps KI should have put Firechaser Express in the park instead of that other new ride for this year. ::hangs head:: 3 Quote
CharleyTheDinosaur Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Where there is smoke there is not always fire. Case in point, this same ride less than two weeks ago. 4 Quote
bkroz Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 My understanding was that last time the smoke was contained in the launch track and sort of filled the ride building. This time, it's rising up above it. That could mean the smoke is no different from last time, but it's being ventilated... Or something's different. The humor won't be fondly recalled if the ride is damaged or - God forbid - someone is hurt. 9 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Too bad the media didn't turn here before reporting four fires last time the motor smoked. 3 Quote

upstop Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Actually, this entire thread should be removed because it's speculation. 1 Quote

Magenta Lizard Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 From the Cincinnati Enquirer report: "A fire has been reported at Flight of Fear at Kings Island for the second time this month. Here's a picture from the June 2 fire." While factually true it is the second report it is not true that is a picture from the June 2 fire. There was no fire. 2 Quote
Existential Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 APE's photo is infamous already as shown on WCPO's website... AND...they copyrighted it in sorts...or so the disclaimer throws one off. Quote
bkroz Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 APE's photo is infamous already as shown on WCPO's website... It's his friend's photo. Wonder how they're crediting that... Or IF. 2 Quote
Existential Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 You have to expand the caption...which I didn't do at first. They credit KICentral. Quote
LovinMeSomeBanshee Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I don't remember seeing reports of smoke outside of the ride building last time. Quote
APE Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 I requested they give credit to the proper person. 1 Quote
