Kat Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Waited one hour for Banshee. They are only running two trains right now - teal and blue. Not all the queue lines are open though but I am sure they will be soon enough. The lingering threat of rain is keeping crowds lower. 1 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Maybe this long line can be taken as evidence that Mantis is perfectly fine in its current form and people don't want it to close? jcgoble3, dreaming 2 Quote
silver2005 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 If they're doing a Mantis rehab, most of all, I hope they keep the paint it already has. It just looks great, really pops out on the midway. 1 Quote

Mr. Coastermania Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I have a feeling I may have to sit this one out. Next month will be the last stand for Mantis. Quote
Bennett Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 In fairness, had they done a weekend or two of "farewell rides" on SOB, even though the ride beat me to death, I would have waited to ride it again... 7 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Rolling Thunder had an enthusiast event its last Saturday. Knowing how most enthusiasts felt about it, I had no desire for their company. The next day, the public lined up in two hour lines to get one last ride. I joined them. And then, the last ride... So sad. 5 Quote
Italian Job 2005 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 For those of you who are here today at P&G's dividend day, Diamondback is about 20 minutes. I asked Guest Services if the All Season Dining Plan worked today. They informed me that during all private events it will not work because the pass has to be scanned at the beginning of the day in order to be activated. (as expected) However I was able to scan my gold pass at the entrance of Dinosaurs Alive and avoided the up-charge. I feel like I'm one of the few people here at the park today who's a regular visitor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5 Quote
malem Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 At the time those pictures were taken, Millennium Force had one queue house open and was signed at a 1.25 hour wait. Mantis had everything full but the frontmost queue house. Its line decreased somewhat, but lines across the park became insane by around 2pm when many church buses were arriving for PointFest. The main lot, bus lot, and Soak City lots are full. The employee lot is nearly full. Some attractions, like Cedar Downs, are still a walk-on. 3 Quote

Oldschool75 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Very light day today. Working on my 100 Banshee ride! Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system. 3 Quote
marth555 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I wish the mobile app had wait times on it Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 A. Welcome to KIC! B. If it did, they'd probably not be right. The park doesn't want people to see the lines are too long and then not come. It hurts attendance, it hurts Fast Lane passes, it hurts per caps. Attendance is already down, at least chain wide in the last quarter.... 3 Quote
jdf21972 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 As expected on a typical Sunday, at Kings Island, that the longest wait was at Back Lot Stunt Coaster, we waited 40 minutes to ride. We rode Banshee 8 times, longest wait time was 10 minutes, just because we wanted to ride front row. The Racer, Adventure Express, Vortex, The Bat, Delirium & Invertigo were an easy stroll to the front of the line. Had a small wait of 15 minutes on Flight of Fear and Firehawk and The Beast. Diamondback had our second longest wait of 25 minutes today. Seemed to have typical Fall Sunday crowds, very light and thinking due to Oktoberfest being held downtown and Bengals (Who Dey 3-0) on TV today, Bye week next Sunday so thinking crowds might increase, but who knows. Went to Snoopy's Halloween Party at Soak City to check things out and enjoyed some great weather today. Sunday ride times very minimum for September 21, 2014 3 Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Great day for lines. Most of the day Banshee's Fast Lane and regular line were the same length. 1 Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 It was a dumb day to buy Fast Lane. 1 Quote
malem Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Anyone renewing a gold/platinum season pass can get it free on one Sunday this fall, likely explaining the relative length of those lines. 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 And that was on a light Sunday. The real fun starts when a remaining Sunday is somewhat busy. Quote
PKIVortex Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Yep I know that, but even then it was a waste lol. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 What I mean is, when a large number of pass renewers all attends on the same Sunday, Fast Lane may end up being not that at all. Quote
upstop Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 ^^ Just imagine the "stand-by" line lengths. Quote
WindingSon Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 You still get priority into the station over the regular line so still probably better. Quote
kikid74 Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 I think we're going to risk it this Sunday. We'll be using the Ride Hopper app to list stand-by ride wait times. Last September, we had luck with going on the last Sunday of the month. However, I am concerned about the impact of the free Fast Lane passes and the Bengals bye week. I can post our experience here on Monday. We have Gold passes this year and the previous two seasons and have enjoyed using them. Sunday's visit will be our 7th trip to Kings Island this year. Next year, I think we are cutting back to just a late summer visit before schools start, and maybe a September visit if we buy 2016 Gold passes. 2 Quote
Magenta Lizard Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Crowds aren't as big as last Friday, at least not at gate opening. 1 Quote
