The Interpreter Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 It was. The ride neither shakes nor rattles. I always thought the newer name rather silly. That would be hard, since the Fifties theme came to that stand after the ride name. Is the name a tie-in with the fifties themed diner beside it? Quote
LordSkippy Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I always thought that SR&R would be so much more entertaining if the ride platform was painted to look like a clock and the name was changed accordingly. 1 Quote

GODZILLA2877 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 If Shake, Rattle, and Roll does comes back then I hope it gets a name change and a new paint job. Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Take this as a grain of salt but Screamscape has started that according to Don Helbig that Shake Rattle and Roll will return in 2015 completely refurbished. I have a feeling the name will not be Shake Rattle and Roll though if it does come back in 2015. They have completely taken down all of the signs even the sign posts. 3 Quote

The Interpreter Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Why the grain of salt? Mr. Helbig made that announcement at a coaster club event at the park. Lance Hart, bless his heart, is frequently correct. 7 Quote

upstop Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I hope it comes back with a far out lighting package like WindSeeker and a new name. Anyone want to guess what it might be renamed, if it is renamed? 6 Quote
JTW Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 How many times has it been said that this forum (and others like it) are often "sources" for news, both industry specific and general? 4 Quote
PKIVortex Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I said grain of salt because some do not believe what Screamscape posts. I do hope for a return its one of my favorite flats. Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I don't believe much of what I see (briefly) there. Eventually, it almost all ends up being right, edited or gone. The site owner gets to edit the past. And does. "You gotta have Hart..."--Ed and The Commonwealth Birds. 3 Quote

thegajone Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I too hope for a name change as I think the original name is kind of hokey and too long. What I'll be interested in is whether or not they go with a location change as well. Quote
medford Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I liked somebody's idea to paint it red and rename it the Big Red Machine. Perhaps a Red base and arms, each of the cars are white with red "stitching" painted along the sides of the car. Then each car would get a number of one of the Great Eight, Sparky or one of the pitchers from the 75-76 Reds to identify it. (They may just have to install a separate line for the #14 car). Who knows, if its presented by your local Honda Dealers, they may just be able to get it done. 6 Quote
Hank Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I hope it returns, refurbished in such a way that it no longer goes around in a circle - so that I can actually ride it! (I puke on rides that go in circles) 2 Quote
The Interpreter Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 ^ That will not be happening A Troika does what Troika does. It won't change into a bowling alley and still be a Troika. 9 Quote
WailsLikeABanshee Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Didn't Don post on Twitter that it'll be going back there? I'll try to find the link. Quote

WailsLikeABanshee Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Thanks! I hadn't been on KIC for a few weeks so I was scrolling through the Twitter page to see what I could find about the building near Beast, and just about had a heart attack. The last I had seen/heard was when it was still on Jenga blocks. My parents got an ear full about it. I was drawn to this thread because I wanted more information, and found that the post had slipped past y'all. I'm glad the we'll get to shake and rattle some more in the future! (Even if it does get a new name.) Quote
