Delirium2018
Well I have noticed that KI security has gotten a little pathetic lately. I just read the article about the stolen articles in the locker, and that security honestly didn't even care. Yes not all security officers are like that. Although about 3 weeks back my friends and I were at KI walking past Hank's towards Adventure Express and one of my friends told a really funny joke. A security guard was a little bit ahead of us, and I was laughing really hard and he turned around and threatned to kick us out. Now that was ridiculous!!
Guest dtk1376
You must have a REALLY bad laugh to be threatened to be kicked out of Kings Island, just saying. </sarcasm>
KI FANATIC 37
No ones laugh is as loud and recognizable as mine. I don't believe any of you have had the privilege (joking of course) to meet me in person yet, but that is the first thing everyone notices. BoddaH1994
Maybe the joke was inappropriate.
Italian Job 2005
not according to this post... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29667-heightened-security-61814/ or this one http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29758-run-in-with-ki-security/ Maybe it just depends on the day
Delirium2018
Well I was laughing exceedingly loud. Still he can't threaten to kick me out for laughing!
The Interpreter
Well I was laughing exceedingly loud. Still he can't threaten to kick me out for laughing! Obviously he could. And did.
OleShawn
Tell the Security Officer that you pay his salary and for you will be fine. He will apologize and say have a nice day.
MantisMan
Something about this just doesn't add up. There's always more to a story than meets the eye....or in this case, the laugh.
Guest dtk1376
There's always the chance that the security guard was just being sarcastic and he wasn't good enough at sarcasm for it to be passed down to you.
The Interpreter
Security should NEVER be sarcastic. They have enough problems, without that.

Guest dtk1376
Agreed on that, maybe the entertainment that ride ops do is passing on down to security, soon enough they may have a spiel.
Magenta Lizard
The only thing I can figure is he thought you were laughing at him and it was an all-too-typical case of a little man with a little power.
shark6495
Well our poster did say he was laughing excessively loudly..... maybe someone complained to the security guard? Also challenging a security guard or officer with lines like "I pay your salary" is not only childish but rude. When your retort is that because you didn't like a rule it shows how mature and responsible you are or in this case are not.
Guest dtk1376
I agree that we are only getting one person's side of this story. We can make assumptions about whether they said an inappropriate joke, had a patron complain about the boisterous laughing of the poster, or the security guard was just out of line. If it was such a huge issue it should of been brought to the attention of Guest Relations, but I imagine there is a second side to this we are not hearing.

Delirium2018
There is no "Second side" to the story. The joke was not directed towards the officer. I'm just guessing that the officer might of thought that. Also I guess I could say I was disturbingly loud.

The Interpreter
I was taught by a wise old country song: There's at least three sides to any story. As she sang: There's my side And his side And then there's The Truth!

Doesnt matter if you are telling the truth from as you see it, the guard would have his version of the truth. Then there is what actually happened. Thats why in a car accident, the police take both stories. Not because one person could be a liar, its to figure out what happened. And next time, maybe not laugh so loud.

As I have noted previously in another thread, I recently had my bag stolen and the four members of Security that I dealt with were super nice and helpful and were very apologetic that it happened. They went out of their way to help me and I was very impressed. You really shouldn't judge them all poorly by your interaction with one.
XGatorHead 8904
^True. I dealt with a rather rude Security officer on Sunday (which I immediately went to GR to talk to them about, ended up speaking with a manager and the situation was resolved to my satisfaction) but the majority of them are responsible and helpful. I don't let one bad apple sully my opinion of the department.
Delirium2018
That's why I stated "Yes not all security guards are like that." Plus it's not like people at Kings Island aren't loud. I just thought it was kind of ridiculous that out of all the loud people at Kings Island I was the one that was told he would kick me out.
